Hey Guys! As you can see this is my very first post, super excited to be here. I have come to seek advice about transitioning from townhall 7-8, smoothly swinging from one to the other. As you can see everything is maxed. I just put my townhall outside yesterday and mixed my base a little bit, so please excuse the madness right now lol you get bored waiting for your townhall as most of you can relate to, and I only have 2 days left I'm not at all concerned about being attacked. I have a shield on currently. Anyway to get to the point, what should I build first at townhall 8 and why? I'm super confused. I'm very open to all Constructive Comments on what you guys did first. If you have never been at townhall 8+ with all due respect please don't comment

Disclaimer, I bought my 4th and 5th builder with gems at townhall 5 and haven't bought/used gems since minus the trees and bushes ofcourse lol in case anyone was wondering Oh yeah and I want to Officially be a farmer now in case that helps thanks!

Max out everything you already have, that way you dont spend precious gold on walls to guard your new defences. Once you've maxed out everything then you rearrange your base and buy all the stuff you get as a TH8

Thanks Guys! So should I buy the new buildings THEN upgrade the old? And if I but the new buildings, I will have to buy walls to protect them, so how high should I upgrade the new walls before I upgrade the old defenses and or new buildings?

Get the new ones first
Level all them up to par
Then make a new base

The very first thing I did was get my Lab upgrading so I can start getting lvl 5 troops.
Next, I purchased all the new stuff that was unlocked, but left it way outside the base while it was building up. To upgrade your AT for example, from lvl 1-4 or 5 you can almost do in a day. They go quick, so I got them close to my current maxed TH7 defenses. Then did a base re-build to incorporate the new stuff.

In hindsight, I would have focused on upgrading my splash damage right away along with building the new stuff rather than getting the new defenses up to my current. I'm doing the mortars now because it's helpful to 1-shot archers but I could have started getting level 6 mortars right away which I didn't.

My clan is " julieheartsjohn " and my IGN is bigT_Defeater so you can check me out. currently I don't have my Clan Castle upgraded which is also regrettable. None of my clan mates donate PEKKA anyhow but still I should get going on it asap.

Upgrade your lab IMMEDIATLY to get level 5 troops. I upgraded my cc sraight away as well, if your in an active clan this helps. Build all new stuff and get it up... I got my AT to level 7 one level below the rest (I will upgrade it to 8 when its done to 7) AD to level 4 one level below rest Wiz Tower to level 3 one below rest DE drill and upgraded to level 2 so far walls to level 6. Then I redisigned my base (yesterday) BTW I got to TH8 about 2 weeks ago
