Centurae was the first clan to be set up a long while back and other clans have been slowly added since. I don't know much about how the whole thing got set up to be honest but the clans have certainly been around for quite a while!

Thanks for your application. Unfortunately the minimum levels of troops that we are able to accept are those stated, even though you are choosing the farming path, there is still an element of war training. And we have discovered that those that do not have the minimum can really struggle with trials. Please up your loons ready to level 5 at min and then reapply. Cheers!
