    New - Need tips!

After several months of Clash non-addiction , I have decided to come over to the dark side and try out Hay Day. Any tips you guys have? I heard that you can farm wheat all day to try and get items to increase your barn/silo. Also, what's the best use for Diamonds?
    Sorry for the noobness...

farming wheat (wheating) will give you it's of expansion items, and shovels etc, but can get a bit boring so don't do it ALL day!!

    - Best use for diamonds is expanding production plots
    - try to maximise your production time by queuing items that take a long time when you're not playing for awhile
    - do the Turbo Trucker and Captaincy achievements when you're at a lower level (there's a thread that will help you)
    - don't try to level up too fast, you need to balance coin production with xp points (sell items in the shop)
    - make lots of friends who play the game on GC! it gives you neighbours and access to their shops and the ability to earn coin, xp, and boat points helping them
    - don't bother buying all the smelters until you have spare coin, it is difficult to keep all 5 in full production. 1 or 2 is sufficient for quite awhile. Also don't bother buying too many production slots for the shelters unless you only plan on playing every few days, metal bars take ages to produce!
    - most importantly, ENJOY!!!

Welcome! If you add your GC name and level to your sig people will add you as a friend.

Last question first: the best (some would say only) use for diamonds at the beginning is to expand production machine slots. Start with dairy and sugar, you will always be needing these things. Most people expand slots until they can run all their machines 24/7--- that means all slots open for some machines like sugar, and at least 3 for everything else. DO NOT use diamonds to open mystery boxes!! The second best way to use diamonds is by hiring Tom. If you haven't used Tom on his free trial yet, be sure to take advantage of him. You want him to get items that are hard to get (shovels for the mine) or take a lot of time to produce and yield a lot of coins/XPs. Oh, and "try" not to use diamonds by mistake... no confirmation buttons here and it is easy to speed up items.

I am not a wheater, but many people do plant wheat (or corn, or cane) all day and then sell it cheap in their shop just to get expansion items.

To make coins, sell in your roadside shop. Many items sell for max price, just look through the DD (newspaper) and check prices. To make XPs, run truck orders and fill/send off boats.

As soon as you have your dock you need to do the Captain achievement, it is easiest done at low levels. Go to the link in my signature and come for help for this difficult achievement, just read the first post and you'll know what you need to.

Most of all, develop your own strategy and enjoy!!! There are many many ways to play HD and succeed!!!

    Achievements yield diamonds.

Take a look around. Plenty of game and strategy info posted.
