I guess, there is really no right or wrong answer to the discussion in this thread. However I would like to say, that equal rights should not be necessary. Equal rights should be the norm.

I play in a small NH. We are three and only two of us are active (/my Sis and I, my Nephew has given up on HD a long time ago). We like our little NH. Just the two of us chatting and having fun. Neither of us has a wish to join a larger NH, it is not how we enjoy our favorite game.

I will not try and compare being in a small NH with being in a larger one, because obvioulsy I only have experience with a small one. I can say, that being in a small NH means that you either take and finish all jobs and with as many points as possible, or you end up on a lower level. In a small NH you are very sensitive to something like that. One missed job and you are "out".

I guess, I would like to get an option to get more horseshoes, but the thing is the prizes are so small, that I really don't care. I get much more equipment each time, I visit the town, than from any Derby. On very rare occasions (/despite the use of diamonds to reshuffle) do I get a deco in the Derby. It is so rare, and mostly always the same darn thing. So more horseshoes would not make a difference for me.

^^^ agreed that there isn't a wrong or right ansa. Unfortunately tho, equal rights isn't the norm tho it should be.

I've played both. In my own small hood, there's no hope of all the columns unless we all play max points × 10.
In the hood that my main farm is at all columns are guaranteed but, at the cost of the choice of tasks.

It is what it is. I rarely play the derby anymore anyways. It's not worth it to me. Tho for puzzle pieces and permits, it's a huge plus.
And for so long as everyone is obsessed with the derby, game developers have no incentive to improve other elements of the game (such as better events, or improved gaming for higher level players)

Like it or lump it, I guess.

And they're asking the game designers to waive this penalty...

I read Tahoe's post in the morning and reread it in the afternoon to digest it properly. I must now consider the possibility that there's a group within the player base which shares Tahoe's viewpoint that some "derbyists don't want to take a break; they can't take a break without demoted".

The size of this group doesn't matter to me. I'm stunned by this playing style so I now support solo derbyists taking a break without being penalized by the game.

Team Hay Day, please implement this Quality of Life change in the next update. Thank you.

    EDIT on November 27, 2018:

HD Community Manager Nick shared the formula in November 2018 for reaching horseshoes:

There's the "formula" for those interested.

And the Bingo Derby ? hard to do in one man hood ? YOU most be jokeing
The awards is probably fair as it now .
I use to play my third farm as one man hood , so have a very good parspective in how much less work it is to do a derby
compring to do a derby in a big team ,
Perhaphs there is a language issue here, because you seem to be implying I’m lying?

If I have written it, I believe it. I’m not sure what else you could mean other than that I’m lying?

As I said, it is *different* playing solo, not harder, not easier *different*. I have played in teams from Solo up to 30.

Define easy? I think it’s EASY to do goats milk, I think it’s EASY to do feeding animals, I think it’s EASY to do crops...but I can’t do any of those playing Solo if I want to place. I have to organise my farm around 10 tasks at any given point, not amble through one task. There’s only me to trash the board, there’s only me to do tasks that are on the same machine.

BINGO Derby. Why would I be joking? To get 3 lines I *have* to do all 10 tasks in that path. I
have to weigh up when to start and risk not getting one of them on my board or waiting until I have them all but running out of time. How easy do you think Town character tasks are when you don’t have others in your NH? NH’s with 2/3 players only have to do 5 each, Solos are the only ones doing 10 per player.

YOU think the rewards are fair as they are now, many of us do not.

How many gold cups do you have in the Champions League on your THIRD farm?

I used to play in NHs of 2-30 I have very good perspective of how much work is done in all size NHs.

I don’t care about few LEM or dynamite, but it was very frustrating getting only half the number of scrolls, it’s very frustrating getting half the number of PP’s, it’s frustrating rarely getting Deco or whatever.

I don't understand why some players who choose to play in different size hoods want to penalise players choosing to play in solo hoods. If I was to get the same number of horseshoes as you, what difference would it make to you? None. No one is stopping anyone playing in a solo hood if you want to. Playing in a bigger hood is your choice, it’s not forced on you.

Yes Lynn, that’s what we have been saying.

Even if it’s just a few passes a year it would be appreciated. I don’t want to drop out of the CL, just ‘because’ but the added issue at the moment is that I want to get that Achievement ticked off and I know the minute I drop out of the CL the following week there will be a BINGO and if I’m not in the CL I can’t get 3 lines.

It’s nice when someone sees our POV.

well I give up ! in a one man hood you get the Derby CUPs , so the only player in a big team you can compare with is the team leader .
If you think you do the same work as a team leaders in big teams do , continue think that .

And if you like to use arguments as ' I do 10 x320 points task very few big teams do that " when you know that in a Derby All teams get Max abut 3000 tasks and one out of 20 is a 320 point , So big team only get abut 150 ,320 points tasks if they like to do more they need to use diamonds , argument that way not my problem ,

And the question how many Derby CUPs my third farm hade , I hade more on that one then we hade in Lyngby farmers !

I, too, am a small hood. I usually play solo. Nothing frustrates me more about HD than this issue. I still have 14 CL weeks to the last achievement and I don’t see it happening. I just get too angry, which totally is not the reason I have enjoyed this game for 5 years. My answer is to only do the derby occasionally. The cost to SC is the diamonds that I no longer spend every week. I fully realize that they don’t need my small expenditure. Right now I’m working on getting my land fully expanded, again without diamonds, and that is enough for now.

Thank you to all of you who are taking up this battle. I am truly appalled by the rudeness of some of the posts. It may seem unwinable, but I have seen SC change their minds before. Maybe they could start by making that 5 horseshoe attainable in regular play. The jump from 1950 tp 3650 is beyond ridiculous.

    This.

All other arguments aside, this is so true - the simple fact is it doesn’t affect players in large hoods if small hoods get all the horseshoes, and it doesn’t take anything away from anyone else.

People should play the game the way it makes them happy. Some love large chatty hoods. Some rock out solo quite happily. The point is, the game may have been built to encourage large neighborhoods once upon a time, but I think its user-base has evolved and it can more than handle the large number of small and solo neighborhood minded folks like myself and others who play the derby, love farming, and should have access to the full horseshoes.

Just think we can all dump our extra tools in the RSS for y’all to pick on Monday when we have those extra columns....that would be a plus to hay day world, not a negative.

Happy farming in the way that is most fun for you...
