I guess ill upgrade it to level 4 and suffer the consequences if there is any. I just hope that the competitive match up works on trophies and not hall level, if its hall level then i guess ill have to drop trophies for a while, im sure ill regret it but ima upgrade xD

The only advantage you have of rushing from my perspective is that you would only function well in a lower level. At higher trophy levels you basically give up your base because it's that weak. Main core focus is to attack right and defend properly. If you can only do one of those (be it attacking) you are handicapping yourself. It's your game but know that you won't progress far like in the regular main game. It's more catered to a maxer lifestyle imo, so far I like it .

Gah your right, I just cancelled the upgrade, lost 100,000 gold but I think your right, its probs best for me to max out and keep defence and attack even, itl only take a few days to max this out anyway I think so not too long

Who knows anymore, this is unknown territory, but your probs right to wait

It's possible, but like for the main village not advised. As you progress, matches are going to get more and more competitive to the point where the only chance you have of not drawing is to defend better than your opponent. So maximizing defense is especially important in this mode. If you're going to rush, at least upgrade your air defense. Because at every BH level air dominates.

Thanks to kart for the sig!

I agree that you will float to some trophy point based on your offense, defense and ability, and as you increase one or more of those that trophy point will increase, up to the point where either they are 3'ing you all the time or you can't 3 them all the time. And of course, once you get high enough, everyone will 100% your base regardless of how much defense it has (until you max out).

The thing about rushing is that if you decide to max your offense then you may as well upgrade defense too because you'll get the gold, so why not spend it? Selectively maxing offense would let you advance faster as long as you know you might have to backfill if strategy at the higher levels turns out to require a troop (or defense) that you didn't level up. It doesn't look like you really need high level barbs at BH3 though.

There may be a benefit to rushing then backfilling if, by rushing, you can compete at a higher league where you get more loot. So for example, once you hit the point where taking nothing but giants is OP, upgrade giants and get that third camp and go as high as you can, as opposed to spending elixir on whatever the cheapest elixir upgrade is. This is more of a within-the-same-BH strategy than a rushing strategy though.

the reason to rush is so you can get a L4 Double Cannon and be able to spend some gold on your proper base gearing up

But that's literally the only point in playing the builder base at all

Just build, not upgrade, so in a way, can 'rush' your BH.

This is my current plan, I have only upgraded barch max at MBH2, but haven't touched anything today at MBH3 except for collectors first (our second source of income) and storages. On my second account I did collectors first, but then decided to upgrade barracks for giants as well as upgrade them based on MBH2. I also did storages on my second account. My second account required me to purchase traps (springs and mines), where my first account is still doing fine with barch. I'll probably buy spring traps for my first account to deal with double giant armies. Tomorrow is when others might be able to afford 3rd camp.

I wonder how others are doing with straight barch and how high in trophies they've ascended.

I noticed as well, the more you build, the tougher your matches are. There may be an upper ceiling to this, but we'll see. Engineering probably takes the same approach as normal CW, being balanced but rushed on both offenses and defenses are the best path

Be a matter of time someone figures out how the MM truly works.
