It's just like many had suggested (can't find the one post from a forumer that pretty much nailed our timeline)

Early/Mid-March when Anoushka posted the 2 threads saying the update could come in a month or more - we weren't sure if it would be April or May then (it happened to be in the 'more" category)
Probably late march, although, I think it was 1st week in April we knew it would be May some time.
Towards the end of April, we narrowed down our window and were aiming for the week of May 15th or 22nd.
When the boat videos started, we were still thinking May 15th week (probably about mid week)
The week of May 8th we narrowed it down to Wednesday, May 17th as our target date. Sadly, towards the end of that week, we realized we had a little more balancing to do. Monday May 15th is when Lach changed the post to say not this week - but we set our new target date as Today - Monday the 22nd. We hit our 2nd target date, which was in our initial 2-week window.

All the rumors of there must be major delays, major bugs, etc etc weren't true. We had the normal minor things the testing group found, but the devs had them fixed in a hours/a day. We work in windows, with the exact date not known until real close to update. It took 2 days for Apple to clear the update, and was ready in plenty of time for today's launch. Was no real issue with the build or Apple.

The big update threads really were just started to keep the main page free of the dozens of individual threads (4? weeks ago) it was never intended to say - hey, update is coming in the next week or so.

So, my question is this. When you guys honed in on two possible dates, why couldn't you be more transparent about it? Instead of cryptic posts like "not this week" which spouted off all sorts of debate, why not just say, "we're looking at May 15th or May 22 depending on our own dev testing and approval from Apple?"

I'll try to give you my oppinion as a non SC representative.
If they said either 15 or 22 May, had 15 came and they said "nah it's gonna be 22", people would go crazy saying it's delayed.
People even got crazy and say it's delayed even when no specific window was announced, imagine what a window would have done.

Well the update has landed.

GEMS needed otherwise it's a slow painful death. GEMMERS already hogging the leaderboard.

I dont want a mini base. Can it be removed. Or can I sell my boat.

Im in the clouds for hours so a 2nd base I cannot use.

Main game has had nothing special.

Can see why players are calling this Clash Royale V2.0

This update is clearly not massive & not even close to the clan wars update. All about money!!!! 6months we have waited for this. Come on SC this is slightly disappointing.

You will miss out on the opportunity to gear up defenses in your home village and you will miss out on the gem mine. Otherwise, no effect.

I'm disappointed. "Massive" update adds almost nothing added to enhance the game I've played for years. I don't want to start a new village, but feel that Supercell is forcing you to jump through the "build a new village" hoop simply so that you don't get left behind if you want to be effective in war.

I don't know why Supercell can't recognize the strength of their game. The strength is in clan community, working together to win wars is the most fun part of the game for many people. This update should have built on that strength, but I feel it goes in the opposite direction. It has a "Clash Royale" feel but without even the live head to head action. (I'm not sure why it was even described as "head to head".) Our clan had a Royale clan but it died, because there is very little reason to interact and work together. I hate to sound cliche, but it really feels like a gem grab to me.

Please don't delete this Mods, hoping to hear people's opinion whether this is a valid point.

Ok... then don't.
It gets you as far in life as playing CoC.
Its just a game and another feature to enjoy.. if you don't have fun doing it then don't. Really doesn't need a thread for attention.
