Well, the loot system should change. Like get loot when you win, but the big bonus once per day. Three loot shots per day so nothing but force players to either use gems or stay stagnant for days!

My initial thought was I did not like the base builder - and that I had wished this content was available within the main base.
However, the more I played, the more I enjoyed it. The loot cap makes it a side game, and does NOT supersede normal game play. I think that was the goal, and I think SC made a good decision with the cap. Slow and steady...
The Biggest glaring issue I've got is... If I choose NOT to advance or play this New game mode it negatively impacts my main. I feel I'm being FORCED to waste time on the Island to unlock features that will make my main village stronger. i.e. "double cannon"
If I have understood this correctly and this is being forced on Us then this is the worst decision to date!
Truly demoralized after spending 4yrs maxing my base, 16 weeks straight grinding heroes and missing wars, rebuilding a clan that almost closed after the Dec.2015 update only to be told..."she's not as good as she can be because I didn't play an alternate game mode"
smfh...
Did I get this correct? Someone slap me please...or them!
CD
So much hate for "The update has been out for 3 hours and I can't race to a completed village Day 1 without spending gems."
Overall, I found things like "gem mine" and "night village" pandering to a minority of players looking for such things. Disappointing to me, but nothing worth rage-quitting over. (Feels like wasted effort - but I'm sure many players feel they "got what they asked for" with the update.)
Too soon for me to decide one way or the other yet. Gaining trophies (after the daily loot limit) does increase the loot you'll get tomorrow when the window resets - but I agree with those that it's not much of an incentive (on its own) to "keep playing."
Closing with my opening thought - too many complainers seem to want quick advancement on Day 1 ... and that's never been what CoC is all about. Personally, I'm looking forward to "chipping away" the next 2 weeks and seeing what happens. Maybe I'll love it; maybe I'll be bored by the weekend; either way - glad to see an update and more options for play.
It is obvious that there is always going to be a spending spree by people who can afford to and wish to gem post an update. Its logical and expected. Its a fundamental business reason why Supercell continue with updates. Keep people playing an paying! No issue with that.
However, where I feel this update has seriously missed the mark is that it hasn't improved the core game. And the second "base" just feels like a very soft mechanism to create a money sink. The need to gem in order to continue winning loot in order to update the game is ill thought out and will only alienate people.
Surely is you have added some new features into the core game you could have better served the needs of most players and you will still have folks reaching for the credit cards ?
You could have created the challenge mode in the "real" game and introduced the new 2 enhanced weapons etc without the second base. You could could have addressed the "Clouds" issue for the higher League players.
I'm sorry but this update has been massively hyped and has IMHO created a "mini game money pit" without really helping with the main game in an relevant way. The whole hype for this release have been a marketing disaster....oh and those "Captains Log's" in the week or two prior to the release was just embarrassing....you need to have a word with the customer relations/marketing department..
I'm really sorry for SC staff, seems that they'll have weeks of hard work to gain back fan's trust

Agree with Crou above!
The loot limit is ridiculous. I don't see much point to this segment of the game at all apart from the gem mine.
Would much rather have seen the same time and effort spent on the home village.

Why should we start a new land ?!
we start our new village 3-4 years ago .
when I play this new land , I do not feel I'm playing coc att all .
Its a nonsense game mode. Just to get those fancy canons I'm forced to play that mode. No interest in it and won't be playing it. Old canons will have to do
