My reaction when I read we could visit the fishing areas on other farms is: why? I dislike visiting my own fishing area, why would I want to see someone else's? and I couldn't care less about who's caught what fish.

But this business with the buyer's avatar showing up in the shop FOR ALL TO SEE, really bugs me. It's MAYBE the business of the shop owner, but not to other shoppers. As I play within a small circle of friends, it annoys me that everyone can see what I'm buying and where. I haven't noticed the performance issues other players have complained of. BUT I've found that a shop full of avatars makes it hard to see what's left to purchase.
And ... if you think you're looking at a recent sale.... unless it changed before your eyes from the '10 planks' to someone's avatar, it could STILL be months old! I have a f2f friend who started playing about 6 months ago. about two weeks later, the iPad was broken. they couldn't afford to fix or replace it, and her farm has remained the same as it was the last time she played months ago. After yesterday's update, there were avatars showing up from the sale of the last two items in her shop .... one of which I purchased over 5 months ago. There are other abandoned farms on my 'friends' list, and they also showed the avatars of the last purchasers. but unless you KNEW they were no longer playing, you'd think someone had just beaten you to the goods.

And am I the only one NOT liking the speeding up of the pricing button? I often try to price things at 3x default price. Now I have to go all the way to MAX price and work down. No, not liking this at all.

    .
That's ok then. Just don't visit their fishing area.

You don't have to skip all the way up. Just take your finger off the button for a sec right before it gets speedy. I've experimented with this and it's easy and faster to reach 3x default than before, especially on expensive items.

actually, it's faster to go to max, then go down to 3x default, than it was before the update to go up slowly.
It takes 10 seconds in total to set the price of ten blackberry jams to 3x default now.
Before the update it took 25 seconds.
although these results vary depending on the item. Popcorn worked out to be exactly the same time, before and after update to get to 3x default price.

I know why, i know why...

...I like visiting others' fishing area. It did not bother me either way, visiting or not visiting. But today I found one usefulness.

I still have some fishes I have not caught yet and in my scrapbook there is one that I can not figure out the fishing area (page 11) because of the gray out picture. So guess what?? I visited my friends/followers to see if they have that fish so I can look at their clear picture and then find out where to fish it from.

There you go, those beginning to fish now can go into others scrapbook and focus the fishing by knowing which lure to use in which area. It makes a more successful fishing experience so you can get those diamonds. Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds.

Come to think of it.. I actually like the idea of a dimmed or grayed out avatar (or just a text "SOLD"). I was just scrolling through my neighbors shops and some shops were FULL of the little avatars of varying colors/brightness/images and maybe 3 or 4 items left. I had to slow down to look to see what was THERE that would be of interest to buy. I'd gotten so used to just zipping through as I had learned to sight identify pretty quickly the various items. That's saying a lot for me with my vision and not being able to zoom 200% lol.

I like the icons when something is sold. Particularly when I'm doing a trade or helping a friend with an item that they may need. I am assured that they have received it.

with old, slightly arthritic fingers, the reflexes ain't what they used to be. by the time the brain registers i'm at the point to remove my finger from the button, I'm at the max price.

    Thank you.

I can't help myself and have to put my 2 cents in about the raiding issue

I literally play this game 24/7 and have over 200 friend now. I love going shopping at all of their RSS. It's fun. Especially when you finds things like Strawberry cake, Baked Potatoes, etc.

If I see good items, I buy them.

Obviously this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off two of my "friends" because I noticed that two of my favorite shops to stop at are gone. They must of unfriended me.

I am a very giving player. I put almost all items on my RSS for just a little over default price, I help with boats whenever I can... Matter of fact, half of the shopping I do is so I can help other players. I got my mom and sister playing and I am helping them expand their barn and silos over expanding mine. I also helped my mom with all her land plots by shopping RSS, buying what I could (usually at max price) and then giving to her for one coin. And once I have my sister expanded I will find someone on this forum and do the same for them.

So, yes, I buy a lot off of RSS, but isn't that what they are there for! To be bought?

I guess I just wanted it to be known that even though I might seem like a "raider", my intentions are good. I'm not just helping myself, but helping others too.

Ok, I will get off my soapbox now.
theres a difference between your kind of raiding vs some other kind of raiding. Certain items for example, are obviously plain selfishness if you one person bought them all up. Diamond rings for example. Which is the current issue im having.

I was told ppl rarely sells them, so i put them up in between bad boats and when im not using tom for for it. I cant put like one then watch like a hawk who buys it then put another one up. So i put a few and check back later when theres nothing else much to do between a few rounds of helping friends, queuing stuff and waiting for boat to arrive.

i have one neighbour who i dont usually have a problem with buying stuff, but seriously she bought 9 diamond rings in 1 go and then five after and this is all in under 12 hrs. What you going to do with thst many? Even i myself dont get that many truck orders asking for diamond ring plus they only ask for one at a time. See, that is an example of selfish senseless raiding imo.

Items thats for boat and truck are fine as long as ppl give and take, you sell some you buy some, there be a continuous logistic flow of goods that way instead of just it going one way

    I am currently level 51.
I dislike my store getting raided. accepting friendships but t&c applies.
t&c: NO RAIDING. be considerate of others. only buy what you NEED. DONT CAMP MY RSS
Thank you for your understanding. Sharing is caring. There are other players needing things too.

I suggested in my feedback post they can just do like how real market stand does, just flip the tray over once its sold and let it remain flipped over until the owner claims the coin. How abt that?

Haystacker, I have not yet had the chance to come by and say that I didn't realize that you were joking. It is sometimes difficult to discern sarcasm online, even with the LOL's. They could be malevolent LOL's. And with all of the recent absurd outrage and indignation about people "raiding" other people's stands, I was inclined to believe that you were at least half in earnest. It was not my intent to offend you, but you did name a name too. There are people out there who would make note of a particular player who is buying up things in the DD, and then use it to censure someone. So, I understand you were joking, and I am not that sensitive. But you didn't need to publically name that person either.
