OP there was I'm sure some valuable advice given, but I got so lost that I had to stop reading (call me lazy the wife does all the time).
So maybe trim it down, have it moved to bugs and problems (where it will be easier to find, might even get stickied like the other "how to keep your account safe" thread.
Overall good advice bit to long winded but that's just me.
