I think there should be a bit of elixir for every troop still alive a bit like the graves except they are more valuable so if you have a barb lvl1 10elix lvl2 20elix etc and higher troops start more so pekkas start lvl1 30elix etc

No, this is a strategy game, so Supercell wants you to gauge how many troops to use, as part of your strategy. If you have living troops, then that means that you probably got 100%. Take that reward of trophies and don't ask for more.
