I don't think the graphic represents chess. To me it looks like two opposing players attacking the same base at the same time. Perhaps the first to capture/destroy the town hall is the winner? Think capture the flag.

It's probably true PVP. Like Clash Royale where you play a player live. In Clash it's always one players offline while another attacks, perhaps they are adding a live capability. Or defensive spells. Who knows. But from the image it looks like two players head to head.

This seems logical and also I hope is true. Adding PvP would add a whole new dimension to the game - Farming, Pushing, War and possibly this new game mode if it exists. Just adding incremental increases to existing content - new levels, new troops etc - is not as good as adding a whole new dimension, as hard as it may be to plan, create, and implement. I'm excited for the possibility of what this might be.

My personal thoughts....
May be SC is building some base, to the respective TH level....

Give some army combo and the ship is to direct to these bases and attack them. May be there will be 5 base for example if you defeat 5 of them you will be receiving some big loot.

I hope that's not true, but I can see it would probably make them a wad of cash because of how it might lock people in more.
