    2) do they fit the specific criteria of players we're looking for at the moment? I've turned down good applicants because we're not looking for th8s, 9s etc at the moment

    3) activity level. Are they active? How many attacks this season? How many Conquerer battles have they won?

    4) are they a leech? I specifically look at Friend in Need and Sharing is Caring stats. That can tell you a lot about what kind of clan mate they'll be. A max th9 with 15,000 lifetime total troops donations isn't getting anywhere near my clan.

After all that, and if I accept them, then we have a few basic rules for them to follow. Failure to follow as a 'New' guy, gets you the boot pretty quickly. 'New' guys don't war and they certainly don't get promoted. But the biggest one that weeds them out quickly, is our 1:3 donation ratio. If a new guy comes in and starts asking for high lvl troops right away, I watch to see. If they request over 100 troops quickly, but donate nothing, I tell them to donate before requesting again. Failure to do so results in an immediate kick.

Anyway TS, there are lots of ways to avoid the problem you're having. You just have to do some work first.

    Good luck.
Everything you said except #2. My clan isn't in a position to be picky about what level of TH to let in. But using everything else for a year and a half or 19 months to be exact we are level 10 with an 83% win record and last month we did our first 30v30 and first war with double digit TH9&10 players.

It's good recruiting rules to follow but don't expect to build a good clan any quicker than 18 months. Running a clan is a marathon not a sprint. Slow and patience wins the race.

Those with war timers are rejected, all we ask is for effort to play the game. Be accountable if your opted in for a war.....try, try again.

Kudos to the guys that commented here. This is exactly to right way to approach it. Over in IFR we have had a few guys demanding (Yes, demanding. Like one of us should code it up and upgrade the game ourselves for them) in game enforcements, all of which they suggest are bad ideas. We just cant get them to see its a clan management issue, they insist they are great leaders but the job is too hard. (Yup). For the effort of trying to help them with some good advice we just get salt and snark for not simply telling them their feature will be in the next update.

this thread in contrast is a thing of beauty.

War timers are a no go, absolutely. The only one I've ever let in, I let back in--previous member who was rejoining because his clan started modding and he wasn't going to abide by that.

Asking for promotions, no go. Why on earth would you ask for something you haven't earned? Why would I ask a completely rhetorical question?

Troop donations are a gray area to me. Lower-level members I'll accept a bit of leeching from--we do want them to raid and build up, after all. And we've got some longtime members who are known leeches and tolerated anyway. I don't give any de troops for raids, though, and asking for them is likely to earn a boot. I mean, if you're th6 or 7 I think a cc of max wiz or giants will do just fine, and you might consider an attitude of gratitude. Someone insisting on valks or bowlers, and to a lesser extent hogs, doesn't seem like good clanmate material to me.

One thing I didn't see mentioned was language compatibility. We place huge emphasis on communication and coordination, and are North American/Brexit exclusively right now. Someone who can't speak English cannot participate to the extent we demand... there are other clans that will fit better.

And this last criterion might sound odd, but is in keeping with the communication/coordination phase: we boot anyone who in three consecutive wars launches blind attacks without consulting anyone. One war gets an orientation to clan expectations (spelled out in the clan description, but whatever); two gets a warning. I don't care how skilled you are: if you can't be bothered to check in with clanmates before attacking, eventually your lone -wolf attitude will come back to bite us.
