However there is no doubt it was a really nice idea and it did seem fairly simple.

I haven't commented on John's wife's idea not because I don't think it's a lovely one, but because I'm trying not to get too sidetracked, And also because it's something that we just can't do ourselves it would have to come from SC.

With regard to land deeds, I put two up for grabs on this thread six hours ago and I'm still waiting for someone to claim them. See post #23.

Edit: this offer is still current:

I have two land deeds to give (for 1 coin) away. YOU MUST BE LEVEL 35 OR UNDER TO CLAIM THEM AND HAVE A GC AVATAR. Please post on the thread do not p.m. I WILL REPOST THE MOMENT THEY ARE CLAIMED.
Woozle, the other game doesn't exactly have a Haunted Manor, but may be something along those lines, if it's the game to which I think you are referring...LOL!

Also, since no one else seems to be taking you up on your offer of 2 Deeds, I certainly will! Even if you wanted to split them into two givings and would only provide me with 1 Deed, I'd be perfectly fine with that.

I do not have a Kik account at this time, but if you do and think this would work best via Kik messaging, let me know and I will get one set up.

Bobbyrae: I'm sorry! I think your farm name read "Level 58 I have bolts". I had no idea if you were talking to me or not and even though I am level 58 I figured you might have more than one friend at that level. As for the problems you're having with communicating your gifts, this is where kik comes in handy. Given the character limitations on the roadside stand its difficult to advertise, even when your just trying to let someone on your friends list know. I'm having that issue now. Someone needs something for a boat order and while I don't have enough to help fill it (and my production queue is filled) I can contribute a few of the items. ONly problem is that I don't know how to contact that person.

I saw that supanova had been asking for two bolts for a couple of days and I did put up some bolts in my stall hoping she would pop by and get them but someone always comes along within minutes and takes them and rightfully so, since I have a first come first serve kind of shop. And so this is my challenge with this idea.

I hardly ever advertise except when I'm selling wheat and corn and most of my neighbours know that I don't trade. My worry is that I have no way of preventing any of my neighbours from taking anything from my stall. We all live in different time zones, some players are not on the forum, and some of us have followers and there is no way to have them unfollow us. I don't have KIK and don't play in the days when I am at work so this would be particularly challenging to me. I am not on this forum every day either and so would miss someone's pm here on the forum.

Because of this challenge, I love two of the ideas that were suggested:

    1. To have something be programmed into the game that allows for a charity box of sorts
    2. To have a "dummy" game set up where donors could give the dummy game the gift and then the recipient could go to that dummy game and take the gift from the stall. This one i like the most (but I understand how time consuming this could be for the person(s) who has to manage the dummy game!).

Level 60. Located in ATX. Please be considerate when visiting my shop and take only what you need, leaving the rest for others. I sell many good items (no B&E!) at low prices to friends/neighbors and I would like for everyone to be able to purchase goodies, not just one person. No challenges! I cast off sugar/cream boats and so should you! Kik: Supanovaonfiya

I just picked up my Deeds...thank you!

Almost had a bit of problem...when I got your friend request, I wasn't playing, so I quickly opened my iPad, found you in my friends, and saw the wheat for a penny confirmation purchase. Grabbed it and when you put up the Deeds, I clicked on them only find out there was no room in my barn! 0.0

I quickly left your RSS, put something on sale in my RSS, and returned to get my Deeds...Phew!

I know it's late on your end of the pond, so go get some sleep...and thank you, again!

    It works!

Okay so first giveaway accomplished. 2 land deeds claimed by Knitgal2

Contrary to my worries about being knocked down in the rush, it took well over 24 hours for someone to put in a claim.

Managed it without a p.m. And it took no time at all.

I now have a new GC friend at level 33 who I will be pleased to help in the future.

    RESULT!

Thanks for all the contributions on this thread so far. It's given me a lot to think about and I will post tomorrow with my reorganised thoughts after having re-read all the suggestions.

    Edit:
Have just seen your post Knitgal, really pleased it went so smoothly. I shall sleep well!

Woozle, this is a fab idea. I love it. And as you know, I have helped lots of people with things for just 1 coin, as I had already expanded my land, and fishing areas. I was happy with where i was at with my farm. So was just plodding along. It's great to be able to help someone else, and for free (or as next to free as it can be lol). I hope this takes off. I'll happily help someone if they need it.

    nice idea

I'd say that I need Land Deeds but I don't meet the criteria of being level 35 and below
(blame my poor coin management skills on the fact that my land still isn't expanded and I still haven't gotten the jewelry kiosk or the last 2 Smelters....that and I use coins to buy stuff to go help my friends' farms- story of my life lol)

Poor Ducky! You're a kind friend. I sent you a PM. I've only got one smelter by the way and only opened my mine last week. I keep it all well hidden....

    (sorry... I suffer DDS...lol)

The kiosk is now probably the last thing I'm getting now that I see these new updates...

41K to open the nets?! 90K for the pots?!!!!

*thud* I am going to be perpetually poor.

Kind of like my real life- sad ain't it?

Now that we've all got over the update

Firstly I want to thank everyone for all the input on the thread, for all the kind words and great suggestions. I have been waiting (and still am) for a response from SC about gift boxes and/or gift systems, but to be fair if they had this idea in mind for a future update they probably wouldn't spill the beans on it to us. I know there are other games that use such a system and I think it would be an excellent idea for Hay Day, so come on SuperCell designers, get your thinking caps on!

The game I am thinking of, (which I'm useless at and don't play any more) allows players to flag up about 4 or 5 items that they would like to receive as a gift. Their friends can check this 'Wish List' and send a certain number of gifts a day. I think this system would work well in Hay Day.

I have spoken to Jen about Fairy Godmothers. In essence, I wanted the giveaway thread to be quite different. Not a club or a group, just a fast-moving thread that keeps getting refreshed by peoples generosity. Obviously it's not going to be 'stickied' so will get buried quite quickly if people stop giving. The idea is, you can give anything away from a bag of sugar to a diamond ring (including all expansion materials) I would like to include lower-level players as much as possible, but being realistic there aren't going to be too many takers for one piece of wheat, but high-level players will be happy to take a bag of sugar from you, a bowl of cream, or a pat of butter.

It could be done almost as a sort of relay race where the last person to claim a gift has to put something up for grabs themselves but I don't know whether this would complicate things too much. I'd be grateful for any thoughts on this.

So, running alongside the 'Giving Bit' I would like to encourage new players who would like to be on the receiving end to post on the thread and introduce themselves. No begging letters please, just a hello, a line or two about yourself and tell us your level and maybe how long you've been playing. Established players who are looking for new people to help will then be able to contact you about adding you on GC. If you have your GC in your signature that's great but again, I don't want it to become an 'add me on GC thread' we already have one of those. Please bear in mind if you are a new player that most established players will require you to have a GC avatar before friending you.

I thought of 'THE GREAT HAY DAY GIVEAWAY' as a title to the thread, but maybe courting disaster there as it might turn out not to be great at all! Any other ideas are welcomed.

    I await your comments.
