    Thumbs Up Feedback

    Woozie,
Thank you for your lovely thoughts and also thanks to all the people who like your ideas as I am of the same nature. I have a suggestion for you. I am a co-founder of the Fairy Godmother's group with Saba. I had to pull back because of time-constraints on my end and put my "giving" on hold for a bit until I was able to add a few fishing spots, which is now expanded "enough" that I'm able to fill my orders, if nothing else (the fishing is cute, but is not a huge focus for me in the game). Now I will be able to jump back into the giving, which I really enjoy and is so much fun to watch the farms grow that you are trying to help! In our Fairy Godmother's group, we focus on land expansion, silo, and barn expansion items and have helped many lower level farmers move past the "struggling" stage of the game so they can get into the more enjoyable levels, like it seems your aim is, as well. The difference between your ideas and our little group is that you'd like to include any and all items to be gifted, if I'm understanding you correctly, which is fantastic. I suggest you contact Saba and get her take on your ideas as she has been running our group pretty much on her own since I had to pull back. She might have some suggestions for you so you don't have to "reinvent the wheel", so to speak. I also had a thought as I know when I was stockpiling items to give away, it took up so much of my barn space that I didn't have room for my own farming needs (but then again I started being a godmother before level 30 so I could give back to others as soon as possible as Saba helped me expand the land piece so generously). What I'm saying is, you either have to have tons of space in your barn if the "charity box" thing doesn't work out and I wonder if it would be possible to have a separate "donation" farm running somehow, where people in need can go to acquire what they need, once vetted by the farm owner... I don't know if that made any sense, but there it is. I'd also tell you that if it ends up with you taking this on, be prepared for it to consume A LOT of time. This is why I had to pull back, I just didn't have the time to respond to the pages and pages of PM's I received and to try to match Godparents and children etc. (working full-time, being a mother of two small children etc.), even if the mods go for a charity box-type idea, if they don't run it, be prepared to allot hours to it everyday. So, my main point is: get in touch with Saba (Mailke) as she is an absolute angel and started the whole giving concept at Hay day, she'll be an awesome resource for you.
I wish you luck and look forward to seeing what you're able to come up with. Like I said, I'm getting back into my own donation-mode again now and will gladly be a part of your project as well. It just feels so wonderful to help another gamer out and makes the game more rewarding!

If I'm reading this right, you mean the High Level Player will have to happy with what the Low Level Player has to TRADE WITH... am I reading this right?

If so, I think you are missing the whole point of this idea.

IT'S NOT TO TRADE...BUT TO GIVE AWAY

I'm at Level 52, I have all the machines and only have 3 products left on the Candy Machine to unlock.

So, basically, I'm now playing because, well, I'm addicted to making products and filling those darn Truck Orders and Boat Orders.

But... I could take a break from filling my orders and make some products from lower level people and help them fill TOs quicker to get more coins to help them get machines quicker.

Also, I could buy items from a Lower Level player for Max Price and then sell right back to them for 1 coin so they get the coins AND the product.

I would be willing to do this with a lower level player to get them going.

    No trade necessary.

    i accept.

then the next day they ask every other Big Brother/Sister for help too.

I am great at excel so I could start a spreadsheet.

now, I would make one exception. Since I am helping my mom and sister with SEM, BEM and LEM, I wouldn't see the harm in having me as a Big Sister for food items and another for expansion items.

Can you tell I have given this some thought? LOL

i was very excited when I saw this thread started.
I have just re-read all this post and it sounds great. I would be love to be involved and like you I am helping someone expand at present by buying LEM for him but once that is finished......
happy to give away other goodies in that sort of programme.

I am in need of a little bro/sis. I have LOTS of items clogging up my barn and I would love to help someone at a lower level. What is the protocol here? Is it the same as for trading? You send me a friend request of GC. I verify your level and add you. Then let the giving begin!

Rule 1) you get what you get and you don't pitch a fit.
Rule 2) must be level 40 or below (?)
Rule 3) pay it forward later when you are at a higher level.
Level 60. Located in ATX. Please be considerate when visiting my shop and take only what you need, leaving the rest for others. I sell many good items (no B&E!) at low prices to friends/neighbors and I would like for everyone to be able to purchase goodies, not just one person. No challenges! I cast off sugar/cream boats and so should you! Kik: Supanovaonfiya

    Great idea!

Oh Woozle, couldn't you just put those extra land deeds up in your shop at say 8:00pm Eastern Standard Time? I'll happily take em off your hands

I saw that supanova had been asking for two bolts for a couple of days and I did put up some bolts in my stall hoping she would pop by and get them but someone always comes along within minutes and takes them and rightfully so, since I have a first come first serve kind of shop. And so this is my challenge with this idea.

I hardly ever advertise except when I'm selling wheat and corn and most of my neighbours know that I don't trade. My worry is that I have no way of preventing any of my neighbours from taking anything from my stall. We all live in different time zones, some players are not on the forum, and some of us have followers and there is no way to have them unfollow us. I don't have KIK and don't play in the days when I am at work so this would be particularly challenging to me. I am not on this forum every day either and so would miss someone's pm here on the forum.

Because of this challenge, I love two of the ideas that were suggested:

    1. To have something be programmed into the game that allows for a charity box of sorts
    2. To have a "dummy" game set up where donors could give the dummy game the gift and then the recipient could go to that dummy game and take the gift from the stall. This one i like the most (but I understand how time consuming this could be for the person(s) who has to manage the dummy game!).

    Hey all,

After reading Jen's (always awesome post) and Woozle's PM - I have to agree with something- since there is another "club" type thing going (Fairy God Mothers) the idea of making another club may not be needed- and just a "giving thread" may be much more easier to manage for all involved.

Of course if people in the thread want to pair up in PM's thats excellent also- but just a post of "I have 10 mallets to give away" and someone replying with a quote to that post - may be much easier.

Of course - the poster can limit their offer to their own GC friends, or low level players- whatever they wish.

Sorry if this is totally against what I said yesterday- I felt bad after my post then may have limited what Woozle is really trying to create.

LOL- hope I make any sense at all!

    👍

No you've missed my point. My idea has nothing to do with trading. The person who gets the offer owes nothing to the player offering the product. The receivers only obligation is to make a post offering their product even if its only wheat. PMs can take care of whatever deal is made - 1 coin, max coins, selling back and forth. That's all handled between seller and giver

Right now the Fairy Godmothers only deal with LEMs, right?

So maybe what we need is a groups of FGs for the other stuff. Meaning there would be a group of FGs who gift SEMs, a group who gift BEMs and group who gift all the food products.

i would be in the food product group because I'm having a hard time getting BEMs for myself, especially since my Mom keeps guilting me into helping her. *sigh*

so, instead of the mentoring program, we just expand the FG group?

We could start a thread titled: Need Help? Below Level 35? Use the Fairy Godmother Service

If you need SEMs, contact: (there would be a list of people who volunteer to gift those items and how they prefer to be contacted)

If you need food products, contact: XandraSky at KIK

    etc etc etc

    That seems simple enough

I like this idea as well. Every receiver would be morally obligated to pay it forward.

Of course there would always be some who may take planks and only have wheat and eggs to pay forward...

Yes, its the same way traders have to expect that some trades will be swiped by an outsider.
