Need help! How to save elixir?

Hi, My the will be level 8 tommorow, and my barracks will finish to unlock dragon. So I want to unlock the pekkas as soon as possible. Right now I am on 900k, so I still need more than 1 milllion to get pekkas. But I don't know how to get up to it. I just get raided. What do I need to do different? Also, should I upgrade my barracks to unlock pekka, or dark barracks for Valkyrie. Please reply, thanks

In my opinion the best way to save elixir is to raid with cheap army. Sharing my experience , i choose this army to farm.
10 giants
2 wb
146 archers.
Cc 4 giants, if max it's awesome.
I would attack only abandoned bases with collectors outside the walls, in gold 2 or 3 league.
I drop a giant for meat where a nr of collectors are and right behind him the archers. If more than 2 collectors i dropped 2 giants or more depending on the situation. After the collectors were cleared i used the remaining giants and wbbs and king to get de collector or other collectors that might be inside the walls, or the storages if the base isn't abandoned. Also that used to give me the 50% star so i kept my tropheys balance.
For this archers, giants, wbs and king must be the first to be maxed in order for this to work effectively even in abandoned th9s.
Remember no spells.

I maxed my th8 and now my th9 with this simple army. Not a pretty strategy but it's effective. Don't go for bases that have less of 300k elixir and gold to loot. Add to that all that de you farm without spending a single drop of de from your storage

The easiest way to farm resources is to use barch. That is 100x barbarians and 100x archers.
Look for base with 300k loot or with collectors outside. Deploy half barbs and half archs from side in a spread and then the other half. U will earn almost 50% or 1 star. And trust me it's best army and also very cheap.

Barch of Goblins in lower leagues without spells. Hit dead bases to get all the elixir you need. Boring but effective.

i have been a th8 for like 3 months and the best way for me to save elixir is to put elixir storage's somewhere in the middle of your base and surround with traps for best result and also if you would like i use this army and i win almost every time i attack 8/10

You could barch in 1 day for 3m gold elixir in 40 raids easily .

Use this wizard event. Boost your barracks+spell factory+barb altar to best take advantage of it.

I'm a near max th7 (7d until th8 upgrade is complete) but attacking th8's. In the last 12 hours I've farmed 3 million+ each of elixer and gold and over 7k DE.

I'm using 50 wizards and 3 rage spells. It costs around 20k total right now. My camps are maxed at 200/200 and I rarely use CC troops to farm. So as a th8 you should have a much easier time.

I would go Giants + heal spells +wizards since wizards are cheap AF right now, you could farm up a bunch of elixir in no time
