I know that the farming community has a love/hate relationship with frogs and foxes. Some love 'em and collect 'em; some wish there were an easy way to get rid of 'em. I fall into the "love 'em" category.
I'm always happy when frogs show up near my water features. The funniest are the frogs that hop in and out of the mine since one of my original ponds is near the entrance. Then there are the frogs on the train tracks in town.:eek: At one point when I had a maze near the river, I loved it when frogs would head into the maze.
The foxes are my favorites, and I have been working for a while to collect as many as possible. I don't have them in a pen. About 10 are roaming around in an area bounded by the cow pens, chicken pens, dairy and some decor. They seem to be pretty well "trapped" by strategic decor although every so often one makes a run for it. I have a recent arrival that I have in a small fenced area near the road that I am gradually moving toward the main pack. I have another single fox in a fenced area on the river side of the driveway. I'm trying to lure more foxes to that area with a raspberry patch, but it has been months since a fox showed up over there.
So, I know that it would probably require a major amount of code changing, but I would love to be able to "catch and release" frogs and foxes. For those who don't care for them, it would be a way for them to remove them quickly. For those of us who want them, it would allow us to set up places to collect them. I have a couple of friends who have pairs of foxes in various areas of their farms. I would love to be able to do that! I don't want to turn them into pets. I'm hoping this would be something new and different.
My suggestion would be something like a net that I could use to catch the frog or fox and then "drag and drop" it where I wanted it. For those who didn't want frogs and foxes, they could maybe drop frogs in the river and foxes across the road. There could be an achievement for catching them.
Knowing that I could resupply my fox areas from newly arrived foxes would make me more likely to go back to using edit mode. Right now, I know there are a lot of us who have lost frogs/foxes when activating an edited layout and are effectively prevented from using that feature because we don't want to lose all our little friends.
