You only need the gamecenter password to load the village onto a new/different device the very first time. Once it's loaded, it's permanently authorized to that device. You can even log out of gamecenter completely and still play. Gamecenter is a TRANSFER method, not an authentication method.
If it was on another device, the only thing changing gamecenter password would help with is if the other person was switching between another account. For instance, loading the OPs, then re-loading their own. At some point, they would want to re-load the OPs - that's the point the new GC password would help. But.. they could also just do an iCloud backup with t he OPs village loaded and always have a backup to go back to.
It's been said many, many times - never load your village or allow it to be loaded on a device you do not own/control all the time.
