As per the OPs update, the zapper should always pack a few giants just to drain as much X-Bow and Inferno juice as he can. Multi-mode Infernos seem to be the norm these days so sending 5 giants to suck in those fire beams should drain it pretty quickly.
With no giant bombs/traps and a couple of empty defenses, the next raider should have an easier time to 100% the victim. Maybe even attempt to join the persons clan to donate him Wallbreakers and share the replay with his clan mates. Hell, why not just burn the guys house down while we're at it...

Don't forget to kill the heroes and the clan castle troops.

it would be better if you were to attack with troops(like you always do) to the people with dark elixer and if you fail to get DE then just drop some lighting spells.

You should also crown the attack by killing off CC troops, BK and AQ... And still not give a shield
This way you can ensure your attack will not be forgotten Also, remember to deploy some barbs or gobs all around to trigger every trap there is. Emptying the defender's xbows and infernos takes bit more effort, but I'm sure the defender will take kindly on your extra effort.
