Notice to anybody reading this planning to post a mis match thread. Please wait until after your war ended. In my experience and from "worst match ever threads" (which they ended up winning most of the time), hindsight is what you need to make a true assessment of the war.
Somehow despite advantages in either direction some large and small, the wars almost always end up close (as long as one side doesn't give up). I think somehow the MM can actually decide a match is good based on projected performance. A weaker clan with great attackers can be matched with a stronger clan with less skilled attackers. I mean, afterall, it can suggest a target for you to attack. What if the priority of the MM was to make a challenging match first and then make sure that no side had to big of an advantage (the weight system). Just a thought.

This, so much.
MM has given us mostly fair matches despite our weirdo roster composition (some legit juniors, some engineered) and dedicated .5 strategy up top. We win or lose based on attack skill. Even the matchups we thought were unfair against us!
Some of them we won by attacking well; others, we could have tied but didn't attack well enough. And the enemy can always three star and perfect us. There isn't a single eagle in the clan.
As much I hate to, I'm gonna agree with you on that, my clan doesn't have bases with infernos in war very often but we do get mismatches where we are matched with max infernos, in the end they are weak attackers so we manage to win.
But that is not always the case, sometimes they are good attackers even though it's a very hopeless mismatch and also the chance of enemy clan being able to perfect war us everytime while we can't even push for a draw does make it seem really unfair.
