I believe this thread belongs in base design tactics and strategy but i may be wrong on that. It depends what townhall and what your troop levels are. Also, do you war a lot or are you a farmer?

Hog Riders become somewhat useful at level 3. If you want to commit to upgrading them for two more levels then go for it. If you want to see an immediate impact upgrade a troop you already have...

but hogs might be useful in wars since gb dont deal double damage anymore.
Always keep the lab busy. With the exception of maxing out TH9 the lab is the bottleneck at nearly every TH as you only have one Lab but can have up to 5 builders.
