If u have heroes defending + CC troops + traps + maybe teslas it's already enough to get a shield almost everytime you get 100%d.
It gets "hard" in the sense you need to raid more because you'll always get 100%d (and it's mostly about DE cause farming elixir is a joke atm)
Ironically when I was building a defenseless base it was harder to get shields at TH7/8 because ppl would just drop a few troops and snipe some loot and go away. Maybe it was the low league causing that too

It isn't hard to farm a defenseless as long as you are actively farming it. I'm a th10 with a 40 aq, and a 30 king in champs. I still don't have a problem getting a shield. I just can't log off until I'm ready to be hit cause it takes about 2 minutes of being logged off before someone crushes me. I have come to the conclusion that any mini that I build in the future even if they nerf engineering into oblivion will be a defenseless with walls at least till I hit th9 cause being able to work on your hero's, and farm dark elixer is huge from a progression stand point. Do you agree?

Absolutely no problem getting a shield. The difficulty at th9+ is heroes. I can replace the gold and elixer lost in an attack with 1-3 attacks the DE is a different story. Not a problem till heroes get above 15. It just gets slower but not harder.

I agree with that. I try to farm in 4 hour blocks so that I can stack the dark, but yeah I lose 3300 dark every time I log off. Where as on my main account I put the storage in the middle, and over half the time they don't even get to it.Originally Posted by MrJackrabbit

Agree wit yall experiences. Defo not harder. Of course slower slightly bc u will b 100 everytime u log off. But only slower if u not active with it. Still faster than ug ur bases in balanced manner from what I seen. Im not gemming so im wasting tons of de as heroes sleep so even if I lose alot of de, I can get it back in 1 raid.

Ok its been a minute since I last updated. So here goes. Clears throat* still havent experienced any hardships with my dless engineer th9 acct. In matter of fact has been easy. Way easier (in terms of time) than making a balanced base. Ive been.forwarned it gets harder once heroes r high lv but I dont foresee that as problem as I been carrying 150k de for a bit. Anyways been busy farming so havent warred since last update n finally started warring again. 2 wars so far n even tho people been complaining still after update, I dont c sc doing a bad job overall with it. Think people focusing wrong on the "problems". Most of these problems can b solved if u know how to attack well. Just my analysis thus far. Shrug. To b continued.....
I find that always having 16 hour shields to work with to be a blessing.
I haven't farmed with my defenseless townhall 11 in a while but i do have 34/41/20 heroes on it. It's not that hard if you are active and the 16 hour shields are nice.
