The problem with the "one and only" threads is that the mods here have no idea when to use them. This topic is important and questions about it, that are important for players to have answers to, are getting burried in a thread no SC rep will ever read.
It is either poor management skills, or SC really does want questions about the new "feature" squashed. The mods op to this thread answers nothing. There are reports he is wrong. There are reports that it doesn't work the way he stated. There are concerns that have yet to be addressed. Do they have to address them? Of course not. But people have put a lot of time into building their clans (me, over 2 years), and not addressing these questions is kind of a slap in the face to those of us that have been loyal and made many of the SC staff millionaires.

Because clan chat is for recruiting and advertising etc. as where this is talking about a hidden feature of the update.

    Let me explain this differently.

The feature to let you report clan chat is intended to help Player support team to get accurate info and quickly compared to what it was in the past.

Prior to this update, nothing stop your own member from taking screenshot and report chat message. Why would this feature is any different now?

However, via screenshot, it's easy to do some image editing and frame someone. For support to go verify the context, they need to go through the log chat and find it). It takes time.

With this feature, the message is tagged and can be found much quicker, with the player iD and timestamp included.

The difference is HUGE for support here, and will eventually let them develop more internal tools to filter frivolous report.

It doesn't change much for players, no auto disciplinary is triggered.

You are not listening to us AT ALL.

We have told you multiple times that this button could be abused. If you conduct a survey here, you will find that the majority wants to have the button removed. However you decided that you have enough amount of players, made enough money, big enough to ignore what the market tells you to do.

Judging from how the in game support acted in the past, this button is the death sentence of req n go clan.

If you hate clan diversity, if you want all clans to be the same die hard farming hard war clan, if you assume everyone speaks perfect English, then oh yeah, this button is perfect.

I'm saying that this is no different than taking screnshot of chat mesage and report to Support in the past. We had player banned because his clanmates reported him.

What I'm saying is it will help support to be more effective.

Just as it is more convenient for the team to deal with, it is more convenient from the reporters perspective. Whenever anything is easier it can be abused. For instance, we have reported people who came into our chat and used Steve Carlin's 7 deadly words. We did this by screenshot and sending it in. But at the same time, we are an adult clan and we do curse from time to time. Now a recruit can come in and scroll up into our chat and report us. Before they would've had to take the extra steps to screenshot and send it in.

While I do understand its intention, I also see the potential for abuse. As it is, many don't let people in during wars because they could be spies. Well now we have to worry about people coming in and getting temporary bans for language. As has been suggested time and time before, don't let "new" players be able to see War bases and War CC and now...don't let "new" players be capable of reporting.

In this thread, a bit further back, a player is claiming that as a test they had a majority of the clan reported him & it resulted in a two ban. Granted we don't have full details but you can see how that's concerning.

So can you confirm this is not an automated feature, where a certain number of reports would automatically get a player in trouble regardless if there was a violation or not?

Also would you be able to explain what the consequences of a valid report(s) is/are?

Is it a ban from game or just chat? How long do bans last? Is there a certain amount of bans/ infractions that get someone permanent banned?

I know along could be answered with a standard "refer to TOS" reply but I hope we could get a bit of clarification on the mechanics and consequences, beyond "refer to TOS" as well.

So what you are saying is that the "convenience " of your support crew is more important than what the community here is telling you to do.

If this is how you learned your marketing 101 I believe you are entitled to a full refund of your tuition fee from your professor.

I would also like to see an official response to the questions above. The player concerned contradicts what Smolson has told us. And with respect to Meonhoc, I don't find his clarification easy to follow at all.

I also find it troublesome that once again a feature has been introduced yet it was deemed okay to leave it out of the update notes.
