I think most engineers who actually understand the process (not just copying from what they saw some other clan do) understand and accept that SC might pull the rug out from under them at some point. But if you are doing the most common sort of engineering (only building offense, hardly any defense), and the game changes such that you need more defenses, that's not a hard thing to fix, as you already have a great offense, and you can throw money at the problem, too.

The bigger problem you have if you are hurt by people being cleverer and more competitive than you are is that after the game changes, they will still be cleverer and more competitive. They may have to operate differently, but that is unlikely to stop them if they have been having fun.

Fully agreed. It's all about the mindset to win rather than gaming the system. If you have a mindset, you'll do anything to gain that advantage

Anyone who plays pokemon, do you realise that players who play vgc (less limitations and tiers, less rules and official format) are far stronger than players who play smogon (lots of limitations and tier lists, more artificial rules)?

There is a fine line between engineering and getting a near identical clan matchup. How many wars have you seen where you have almost identical town hall levels? And how many have you seen where you have near the same level defensive buildings? I'd bet you $10 that you have seen a lot. When you have a clan that is intentionally only upgrading their town hall, resources and troops, there is a problem. In fact, maybe you're right that this isn't "cheating", but rather the balance is way off.

If you would like to come see how bad of a matchup this is, I can personally invite you into the clan just to show you how lame this is.

I am not sure if you can, maybe ask a moderator you can post your clan tag to allow people to see the matchup. or can you post the other clan tag to see what kind of bases they have. Not sure if you can but would like to see that other clan.

If i may say, it's not cheating, From what i see. even if u'r clan face a same "level" (Excact replica in bases) u'r clan have little chance of winning if the other clan have opposite priority than u'rs.

the same base with others have full amunition, u don't stand a chance.

IT takes TIMES, They probably spend MORE times than your's.
IN other word They Take More time then u'r clan to prepare.

Now imagine u'r going to war face2 face u focus on armor en not investing on weapon and rush into war with only knife, while your enemy prep their armor and bringing rifle.

Seeing the match. if only u'r th 9 already full army (Not a th 8 army) if u a good player the most thing happen will be draw.

Note : For my perspective it was really stupid to take th9 with xbow with only th8 army, to war. That really2 stupid (tactical flaw).

OP your premise is faulty. It's not an unfair act if both clans have the opportunity to engineer. This is in contrast to modding where one clan is explicitly breaking the rules.
