From reading all those "I quit"-rants, I get the feeling, the intrinsic motivations weren't that high to begin with and to add there the negative motivators from the game, it's more than enough to say bye bye.

I can see that defining the "fun" is tricky, but I think it would be beneficial to think a moment what makes it "fun"

I mostly play online games ever since, I didn't even know CoC was an online game, so earning and saving up were just really natural way on playing like MMORPGs so took a shot, got hooked and here I am! Plus some of my schoolmates are now playing CoC much to my surprise so we got some friendly competition, and we're all in the same clan so its fun!

    Game's not too bad either.
A question: what was the "thing" before becoming a CoC celebrity?

it's always a problem-solving thing. it is really a good strategy game.
so you keep on coming back and back and back
(well of course you have the social aspect part which enhances the gameplay and more)

attacking and defending. so many options.

Well i'm not really a CoC celebrity but my kids were quite proud I was in bonbee.

The way I look at it i'm always going to be proud of my kids, and most of the time kids brush parental pride off - but when they can be proud of me then that's much more important to them, kids seem to be really influenced by their peers and this gives mine some :bragging rights" in the playground.

    Not conventional parenting I know.

    Thank you for sharing

I thought it's quite conventional, that kids compete who has the bestest parents What the comparison is based on (trophies&clan in CoC) might have changed quite some, though.

Progression is what makes me play. Nothing makes me feel better than having maxed something out.

Imagine the look on a kindergarten teacher’s face when two kids are debating whose dad is better...
"My dad is level 56 and has 1900 cups"
"Hah, that's nothing, MY dad is level 70 and is in crystal!"

I'm sick of the game. I'm sick of farming. What motivates me? iQuit. People around me. People showing so much support. People spreading love day by day.
