Why do we play CoC? What motivates us?

i play because this game is all about battling other players for only 2 purposes, loot and trophies. most players like both, some prefer one over the other. this game is full of fun people all over the world who share your likes and interests.the ability to customize and upgrade your very own base to great heights is outstanding and many people seem to love these types of games where you can test the power of your precious village/base. the ability to test with several troops and army compositions , not to mention upgrading these troops, is also a fun aspect of this game. and last but not least we have clans, the best way to get close to other people not using global. a clan is where you can chill in one place and talk and laugh with friends from different locations. with clanmates, you can discuss several successful base compositions and efficient army attacks. there's no other game in the app store that i would have played for over a year because there is no other (that i know of). if clash of clans never existed i would still be scavenging the app store for a good game by now.

I play for the fun, the competition, the challenge, and the social aspect. Supercell got it right, in that regard. It's also a game I can play cooperatively with the love of my life, who mentioned her outsized competitive tendencies in an earlier post. We run our clan together, talk about the game, and happily geek out while clashing side by side. It's perfect.

That's cool and I know exactly what you mean Joint custody here works great as neither of us are competitive.

1. It's a LOT of fun.
2. It's competitive and challenging.
3. You get to bond with like-minded people, find loyalty in one another and make rare friendships (If you're in the right clan for you)
4. Gives you a sense of achievement on reaching certain targets / completing upgrades etc which inspires you to keep going.
5. Keeps your mind occupied from the stress of day to day life. For the few hours you play, you can concentrate on pure strategy without being disturbed by mind-numbing details of everyday life.

The excitement of every new defenses/attack, is different. Every day there's a different way of playing.

I like doing things in games that are crazy. The things that make people do double takes. Clash offers a fun game where i can do that.

I play because the game is a unique style of gaming that's just right for me. I'm not fond of games that are entirely skill based, because I rage quit after a while. I like progress-in all forms. I agree that it's more of intrinsic forces that drive me to play, but there's a ton of room for the extrinsic forces to reverse their influence with a couple of fixes.

Because when we get all lvl 7/8 walls we are proud and we want even more ! It just makes as feel good, I think we have a new type of drug.

Like that quote said, it's the journey. There's no point in being top player straight away, you don't get a feeling of accomplishment. It's the fact that you put in all that time, for a result.
