Th 9 would not be balanced with 20/20 royals, you need rhe 30/30 to hit max nines and even try for two on max tens. 20/20 is just to week. I spent over 2 years at th9 on amd off, I loved it and warred as a th9.

    Dont break what's notbroken,fix th11 and leave th9 alome

hmm... idk if it was just my experience but on my main account, i maxed heroes at th9 well before lab (actually i didn't even max lab before progressing to th10... or th11...). heck i'm now a fully maxed th11 except for ~25 bits of wall which i'm quickly chipping away at AND I've STILL GOT 14 FREAKING WEEKS WORTH OF LAB UPGRADES!!! So i'm not sure there's an "imbalance" between heroes and lab progression. Simply put it takes a freaking long time to max anything (without gem help). PERIOD.

If you have hero lvl 30/30 in TH9 that's mean you have done half way upgrading hero in TH10. That's also help you become a half TH10 powers when you still TH9 because of your hero lvl 30/30

This is not about kids who rush TH upgrades, this is about the game progression curve for war dedicated players.

The usual approach for such players is to max all out before upping TH in order to be able to keep warring without being of detriment to your clan. The recent war matchmaking systems seems to be in favor of a balanced offense/defense progression.

Right now TH9 takes way too much time to max out. Heroes up time at TH9 outweights buildings and lab big time.

Going from TH1 to TH8 is quick and fun then you are stuck at TH9 for a year or two. More often than not, unable to war due to upping heroes. On the other hand a TH10 with 30/30 will spend 6+ months to finish research with heroes and defenses maxed out already. This does not make much sense to me.

I think the devs should work out a smoother progression, not sure how though, it's their job to figure that out. My ideas could be any or a mixture of the below:

-Redistributing hero levels across TH7-11(TH9 30/30 feels too strong, takes too long, TH10 needs GW5)
-Reducing hero build time for levels 1-20
-Introducting a gem purchase that allows warring with upping heroes

That one is really just not feasible. If you reduce the max level at any TH, then you either have to remove levels from people who already have them (and there is no possibility SC would do that), or you have "legacy" people sitting at that TH with stronger heroes than anybody can now get.

-Reducing hero build time for levels 1-20
Possible, although it is more the higher levels that need a reduction. it currently uses 30 weeks of builder time to get from 15/15 to 30/30 - may be less than that in elapsed time if you can raid DE hard enough to have both down, but not many people manage that.

-Introducting a gem purchase that allows warring with upping heroes
This would certainly help it to feel like less of a grind.

If you are doing this with one account, being effectively unable to war for well over 6 months of your TH9 time gets very boring.

Personally, I can't see a problem at all with what we have at the moment. town halls 1-7 are finished really quickly, at th7 you get a small taste of heroes with BK lv5.

Town hall 8 takes a bit longer and BK becomes twice as powerful. If you haven't got fed up and quit the game by then, th9 is where the fun starts. Lots of new buildings and troops to get and upgrade.

If you are a casual player, you will never max heroes or walls at th9, regardless of upgrade times or if the 30/30 cap were to change.

These people "max " their base and move on to th10 with purple or skull walls (they don't matter with jump or eq they say) and teenage heroes at best deluding themselves they will do heroes at th10. Then they chase gold and elixir instead of DE and never do them.

30/30, 40/40, 40/40/20 heroes are for the hard core gamer who puts in the hours and/or gems.
    Walls too.

People can make their own decision on when to go to the next town hall and with what level heroes.

They can ask clan mates for advice, come on here and read or make up their own minds (if they feel so inclined. Cant see casual players taking the time to read guides or forums)

And that is the beauty of the game to me, progress how and when you like at whatever speed suits you

    Idea:
Can the devs hide the hero levels instead? Cap TH9 heroes at lvl20, so they cannot be upgraded any further. Every player with >20 heroes in TH9 will have their heroes downgraded to lvl20, but once they reach TH10, their heroes are instantly lvl30 or whatever level they had it previously.

    Second idea:
Reduce upgrade times of heroes, but not cost.
    lvl2 - 0.5 days
    lvl5 - 2 days (same)
    lvl6 - 2 days
    lvl7 - 2.5 days
    lvl8 - 2.5 days
    lvl9 - 3 days
    lvl10 - 3 days (reduced from 4.5 days)
    lvl11 - 3.5 days
    ...
    lvl15 - 3.5 days
    lvl16 - 4 days
    ...
    lvl20 - 4 days (TH9 cap)
    lvl21 - 4.5 days
    ...
    lvl25 - 4.5 days
    lvl26 - 5 days
    ...
    lvl30 - 5 days
    lvl31 - 6 days
    ...
    lvl35 - 6 days
    lvl36 - 7 days
    ...
    lvl40 - 7 days

Much smoother progression imo, and matches TH10 lab time better. TH10 will retain the cap at lvl40, but TH11 should also get lvl50 heroes (all 7 days only, no more)

Acquiring lvl20 heroes used to take 87.5 days, with the new formula will only take 55.5 days. So instead of 157.5 days to max heroes in TH9, it only takes 55.5 days to max. This allows newer players to enjoy TH9 wars if they choose so.

Acquiring lvl30 heroes used to take 157.5 days, with the new formula will only take 103 days. Around 33% shorter

Acquiring lvl40 heroes used to take 227.5 days, with the new formula will only take 168 days, considerably shorter and would certainly finish before TH10 lab finishes.

On a another note, all lab times do really need a drastic reduction

I wouldn't be opposed to hero upgrade times being lowered to make it 'more smooth' ☺️
