Upgrading Heroes (uneconomical for farming?)

I just recently purchased both heroes and can't decide if it's efficient for me to upgrade them. I'm hybrid-farming (crystal) and feel I'm having really good success, and don't often need to use heroes. Their main responsibility has been to try taking out any stray resources after I've expended my regular army and it's been defeated. They're not overly useful in the heat of the battle while supporting my archers, as stronger defences take them out in an instant.

With respect to regeneration time, time spent occupying a builder, and diminishing returns, do you think they'd be worth it for me to upgrade? I don't really see the merit unless you're trophy hunting or maybe until about mid-level 30's, but somehow the 3.75m dark elixir and 227 days training aren't very realistic options unless you gem like a madman.

I still need (want?) billions of gold, while having nothing to spend elixir or dark elixir on. Awkward.

At first, it may seem pointless, but it'll be worth it in the end.

I'd say its worth it, say you have a lvl 1 barb king left over after deploying your army and 1 storage left. You deploy that king and it will likely be taken out quite fast. Say you upgrade that king you might take that storage out and even have enough health left on the king to the point where regen time is only 60 min, same as lvl 1. To come back to the main point, yes, upgrade your heroes.

Upgrade them. Heroes are not to be used as a farming tool. When they are ready to be used they are great. But keep lvling them up and youll never regret it. When I use my lvl 12 BK and lvl 13 AQ on revenge they do some serious damage. 2 lvl 1 heroes would have no luck doing what I manage to do with my heroes.

For farming only they are really only used as a clean up tool [or if the loot is insane good and you want every drop of it] - but even then higher dps would mean they can achieve the job quicker. Also makes them more of a hassle to deal with on defense.

I'm a fan of upgrading them, my king will be lv 7 tonight; and I will be upgrading him again soon after it. I found the difference between L6 and L1 to be worthy enough of the DE spent. Even considering regen time.

I maxed my BK at TH7 and now at TH 8.
I dont have time to explain why, but do it. Do it now. Upgrade your Heroes. You will not ever regret it.

I cant wait till I get the AQ at TH 9 so I can start maxing her too...

Maxing out BK on TH7 & TH8 is pretty easy. Maxing out heroes on TH9 is different story.

20lv for BK and 30lv for AQ is a huge jump for sure. But I think it's still doable.

Any Hero (beyond level 20), you bring to raid, is the most strongest benefit you have. You just need to learn a little to used it.

Barbarian king lvl 1 = 180 damage per hit/1500 hp

Barbarian king lvl 10 = 256 damage per hit/2135 hp

I am upgrading my barbarian king to level 10 right now and I can tell a major difference between lvl 1 and lvl 10


Also it's not that hard to acquire dark elixir
