These costumes is specifically for troops only. When Supercell updates it when a season changes, there is a new costume that you can get. These holiday skins is half as much as the troop elixir research cost is. You can have it forever and use it but these costumes can change the statistics drastically. This can nerf and buff some statistics about the troop to make it even. You can switch the costumes whenever but the elixir cost and time to train will definitely change.
