Roster engineering? Just a myth...does not affect match up at all. Same for engineer bases, no longer anyway affect match ups anymore.
BTW yeah we faced engineered clans regularly...and we kick their as s all the time. I don't get all this hype about engineered bases.

There are plenty of clans padding the bottom with low level THs in an attempt to have the top bases face weaker opponents. Nothing is foolproof in MM, but it seems to work enough that people keep doing it.

A lot of clans running engineered accounts seem to have them because of some poor attackers in the clan. We've beaten some engineers that had lousy players, but engineered clans were a disproportionate share of our losses from April through September. It's been a lot better since the update. We are on a 10 war win streak, though we are currently facing what looks like a decent clan running 2 well thought out engineered accounts that will give them a slight cushion for bad attacks. They also threw a TH4 at the bottom of what's otherwise TH8 - TH9.5.

Regarding roster engineering...get ready for it. It is gaining traction, and will be a common theme. This latest round of MM tweaks has forced this front and center. More clans are seeing this strategy, and adopting it. Depending on your clan makeup, it's one of the easier ways to combat matchups where you are at a massive defensive disadvantage at the top of the war map.

I agree. Having several super easy 3 stars at the bottom won't offset impossible 3 stars at the top. My bet is that OP has all TH6-TH8 & the other clan has a couple TH3s at the bottom. It's pretty clear when only one side has any shot at a perfect war, and you can only hope the other clan has some really terrible attackers.

I'll keep suggesting SC add a check to ensure reasonable parity in the top 20% of a war.

For most war troops, that level bump from the max available to TH8 is a big one, especially hogs & loons. All other things being equal, I'd bet my money on the caln with those troops available...

1. On attack you can go to your friend in another clan and get troops or have a donating th11 that is not in the war .. this is available to any clan of any level so the possible troops available to be donated to help on the attack cannot be considered in matching

2. So we are left that the higher level clan has an advantage only on defensive cc troops as these can only be contributed by war participants . This advantage exists but it's tiny .. every possible cc troop has disadvantages and easy ways to kill it .. .. this advantage exists but is not war changing

you were citing offensive troops ... if you need those .. cultivate a friendship with a th11 so he will send you top level bowlers or something .. but the way the game is matched now ... it has no way to be factored in matching

Lots of people do illogical things on this forum. It does not mean they are knowledgeable or being smart. A very good example are all:
1-those who are still complaining about engineered bases.
2-those are still trying to develop engineered bases.

Padding those low level bases at the bottom is just an invitation for mismatch..either favorable or unfavorable. It is not consistent, therefore it does not work.

So, if you want the clan level perk of donations going up one to count in the match does that mean you also want players not in the war to count in the match? A level 1 clan of th8s in a war can get max troops if they have just one player with max troops not in the war.

If both clans are all th8 and under, and they know how to attack with a minimal level of skill, they're going to end up with a perfect tie regardless of donation upgrades or lack thereof.

Having been in a Clan with mostly TH8 and under, in fact we all started warring at TH4, this isn't quite true. Agree, it happens, but mostly when TH7 and above only accepted into Clan, we went the other way and helped new members, so it's possible.
