My clan was the first clan to ever have "wine" in it's name (Wine Lovers), but when a player currently searches for "wine," my clan is not included in the results at all. Having established my clan back in November of 2012, I find it very disappointing that the oldest wine named clan doesn't even appear in the results. Search it yourself and see. Wine Wine shows up, which is alphabetically behind Wine Lovers, but my clan is nowhere to be found.
i think it would be great if SC rewarded clan longevity by placing the oldest clans at the top of the search results. It makes it hard to keep fresh blood to replace players who have moved on from the game when my clan doesn't even show up. Why must multiple new clans with 1 or 2 players make the first page of the search results when my clan has been around four years? How many other clans can claim to have been active for four years without interruption?
Please consider this suggestion for rewarding clan longevity.
I do wish the search did a better job sorting the clans that pop up. But with the refined clan search tool, I don't see much need for this. If they know your clan and want to join, they can search for it specifically, without relying on the search to bring it to the top.
A lot of old clans are dead with one rando leader that quit but is still in a clan though so idk if your idea would get the results you want for everyone.
Maybe they should allow us to change clan names so we can create more unique ones that are more easily searched. Maybe they can remove clans that have no activity for 6+ months from the main search (but can still be found by clan tag).
