I feel I'm having success farming at the 2200-2300 level with my army composition. I average ~375k resources and promise I find battles within an average of ~4 minutes.
I use a combination of archers (maxed), giants (maxed), and wall breakers. I bring my hero (tomorrow, heroes), CC, 2 lightning spells, and 1 rage spell and it's actually quite the formidable attack when strategically deployed. I also have very little downtime (of which I cherish) between battles.
I'm wondering, though, if I should do anything differently. Specifically, should I drop trophies? More specifically, is the loot higher in the 1400 trophy range? Remember that I enjoy the brief downtime caused by sometimes expending my whole army at higher trophy range, so I'm asking purely if the loot is higher at lower trophy ranges.
I'm also considering the barbs/archers/minions 'BAM' camp. I currently have two level 2 barracks, one level 4 barracks, and one level 6 barracks. I do not currently have any dark barracks. I tend to enjoy farming and being lower-leveled, hence the severely underdeveloped barracks. I'd need to buy at least one dark barracks and upgrade minions to max, but if 'BAM' is irrefutably better than my current composition it will obviously pay off in the long run. I just don't know that it is.
TL;DR: -is loot higher at lower trophy ranges?
-change to barbs/archers/minions 'BAM' strategy or continue with archers/giants, which have been successful for me?
For me, I think 375k raids are not worth staying at a trophy level that high, but i plan on farming for most of eternity with all the new stuff supercell puts out every update. Also started in late May/early July and almost a maxed out TH 7, but I love farming between 1100-1250. I have gotten plenty of raids where i got more than 375k but plenty of easy 200k plus just using some goblins to attack mines/collectors. I started de hunting which energized me from the rut of just regular farming, but loot is a lot easier to get at lower trophy levels with cheap troops. But that purple shield always looks good.
