To bring awareness of double counting inherent in the game and players to be vigilant against game reseller exploitation.
How Double counting works
Exchanging trophies for shield are used in this fashion. A clan member leaves the clan, Searches for a game match till he finds his own clan member, which he attacks to gain trophies, in turn giving a shield. The player then returns to his own clan for which he just attacked his own clan member.
Result
- Trophies are retained in the same clan for which prize money in the form of Gems, is given to the top members of the clan, provided they are in the top 3 clans. Usually they are the owners of the clan and intent is to prevent others getting these free gems by kicking them out before this can happen, unless they are quite far below the ranking.
- Some clans have used the oversight of double counting to retain trophies, keep shields, discouraging fair competition.
- Exploiting new players. Free publicity to top clans, have resulted in some sales of player accounts, by using the clans known name, to profit by using new players for clan troop donations, whilst giving little or none in return. Troops are elixir, elixir is resource, resource is a purchased Gem in real cash, when counted in large numbers over time. Profit is made upon sale of player account inside supercell framework, upon backs of unsuspecting players, donating in the hopes of becoming permanent clan members, ie. elders. It is an elaborate scam, for lack of better words, through a highly monetized game.
Player to exercise vigilence, Cavaeat Emptor, Buyer Beware.
The only precaution is to use estimation work, to observe common players who leave and reenter the top clans, who have authority and influence in the clan, whereas other players ( eg. non-elders) are rotated out maybe after a month or two, never to be seen again. You can then decide not to join the clan, or if you are part of such a clan, leave it now, unless you are prepared to have the illusion of the possibility of having ownership of the clan.
