Hi guys,
new player here just started playing,
can anyone plz give me any pointers about my city on how it looks, my town hall is level 3 and I'm about to upgrade it to level 4 as soon as one of my workers is free.
also should I spend my green gems or save them?
i guess what things should I build, upgrade from this point and how should my town be protected etc?

But what I can say is dont spend your gems on anything but builders, and if possible buy the 2500 gem package and buy your 3rd and fourth builders instantly and there's an achievement that gives 450 gems and you can clear obstacles to finally get a fifth builder. After that only use gems on speeding up upgrades and boosting a barrack for 45 minutes (not the insta make troops!).
The most important thing to upgrade is definitely splash damage (mortars, and when you get it wizard towers) Also the laboratory and army camps. Then you can do air defence, archer towers then cannons.
Also this might be annoying to understand but most low levels including me used to believe trophies were important. They aren't. What's more important is good lot. What I reccomend you doing is learning about farming right now. Basically it means you stay within a specific trophy range and aim for as much loot as possible. Use an army of 50% barbarians and 50% archers. Remember to deploy them in small waves and not all at the same point so mortars don't kill them all. You should use your finger and spread it across the screen in a line, deploying the barbarians in a small wave and archers right behind. The reason I say just barbarians and archers is they do lots of damage and are extremely fast to make and cheap.
Also don't rush your town hall. Max everything out before moving on. This is especially important at town hall 5+ as the loot penalty. Basically if you attack someone two town halls lower you only get 50% loot and three lower 25%. You also gets 150% loot if you attack someone three town halls higher, not sure about 2 higher. Stay within a trophy range, I'm not sure about th3 but at th5 its about 600-800 and th6 is 800-100. You won't get much loot from the league bonus. Also dont be afraid to skip low loots. You should set a minimum loot that you should find to attack. At th5 its going to be 100k gold. Also once you reach th5 you should keep your town hall outside due to having too little walls. Go on clashofclansbuilder website (google it) and then search for your town hall level and a farming base its a good website for base plans. Also join a clan, they can be extremely helpful in defence as the clan castle can hold troops donated to you.

This is a nice good start, pretty well balanced little village. You should continue that as you expend, TH after TH. Don't want to repeat all Rager already explained. In my view the major points are:
- Keep your gems preciously and take the 3rd builder once you have enough. Never spend gems in the early stages.
- Always maintain a well balanced based as you have, protecting your town hall and resources storages.
- and last but not least... Always max out all your buildings (especially defenses) before you move into the next town hall.

One more TH is 10% more loot(110%), two THs is 50% more loot( 150%), and three more THs is 100% more loot ( 200%)

Pretty good base you got there for a new comer!. Below i will mention what to do and what not to do...
To do:
1) If you haven't joined a clan yet,join ASAP,been in a clan will benefit you in more than one way
2) Max out your defenses before moving on to the next TH
3) Keep collecting jems
4) Be active
5) Keep upgrading your offence,too
6) Get the 3rd builder by receiving the jems you get from reaching 1250 trophies.
NOT to do:
1) Don't rush upgrading TH
2) Don't use your gems on speeding up upgrades

One more piece of advice, probably something most people on the forums take for granted. You may understand this already but if you don't you should. The advice is that you should be getting most of your resources by raiding other players, not from mines and pumps. The most you can get from mines and pumps is half a million of gold and elixer a day, which may sound like a lot now, but is no more than a fifth of what you will need at the higher levels. Some of the more active players raid upwards of 5 million gold per day.
