First Attracting Then Endearing People To Your Clan

In short first though, I wanted to ask you how you atract people into your clans and more importantly how do you keep hold of the goods ones?


Read on for my detailed description of my thoughts and actions thus far...


I have spent a bit of time wondering about how to attract players to my clan UK Survivors #G829GVVU and thought maybe some of you nice people and maybe even some of you who are not so nice (let's not discriminate here I need all the input I can get ) could shed some light and possibly even help me

I started a clan (Rigglers), it must be 15 months ago and no one ever came by who were not invited, not surprisingly because how many people are searching for that name? Well, I'll tell you, it's none, zero for sure


Anyway, (it's beginning to be like a Ronnie Corbett story now isn't it (for those of you who know these things )) I thought I should spend some time searching for clans and see which types and names have a high number of players because if a clan has a players they have been invited or they found that clan through a search of some description


I came to the conclusion that sports teams are probably the best thing to set your clan name to because these have many thousands of like minded souls and there's the key


You need a name that a lot of people are searching for and a sports team couldn't be better, however, in my clan I have two friends who support premier league football teams with hugely conflicting interests so this isn't really an option for me


So, then I thought what other clan names seem to attract lots of players and I found clans with "UK" and "Survivors" do quite well and have player counts into the 40's


I thought ahha! (It was almost my Eureka moment) People must be searching for this so I chose "UK Survivors" for a clan name convinced that within a short time I'd have a steady flow of requests from people wanting to join a nice clan where there is a war once a week and no pressure to join in or do terribly well if they did join in


Well! That was a mistake too, nobody has arrived by their own transport so to speak


I thought I would Boulster my numbers by trawling my League and sending anyone who was not in a clan an invite to join us, all this has achieved however is to open my eyes and make me amazed that some people just don't ever accept, some accept and stay overnight only to bigger off without a word in the morning (rude sods) others stay overnight, request troops then bugger off and 3 have stayed, at last, some success


This is a torturous process however, in a month 3 people I'm disappointed


I offer top level troops with no donation ratio and no pressure to enter war or even do well in war


But there are no people searching or if there are none that find my clan appealing to them


So, I ask your help folks, how do you advertise (so to speak) your clans? Or is it really just luck or a sports themed name?
