Casual dragon army user: how should I use?

I am in the 1500-1600 range with an occasional itch to let my barracks brew up 11 lvl 3 dragons over night. The next day, I come back to use them- but I am not sure how. What I mean is:

1. my mindset is: farm, farm, farm, farm
2. i never use flying troops otherwise, so I don't know how seriously I should take ADs (should I skip a map that has 4 central lvl 6 ADs and it look like all the loot is central?)

I just do not use this army enough to know (A) how to deploy it for it's maximum effect, and (B) I do not know what I should look for in a base (in the way that I know in a BAM army I want to look for exposed resource generators on the periphery)

well when doing an all dragon army, all of them should be lightning lvl 5. you can throw in a rage spell if u want to. healing spell is highly unrecommended, but you can do it if you want to. but make sure izza high lvl. jump spell will just waste your spell. if ur a TH10, which i bet u aren't im sure ur TH9, then go for a freeze spell. but anyways, back to the topic. if all 4 AD are right nxt to each other and lvl 6, use 3 lightning on them, a fourth if you have to, and u probably have a 100% raid. i can't really help u out alot cuz ima TH7 while ur TH9 or TH10, and i have only been the 1500-1600 trophy range with 3-4 days, then i started offensive farming, and my defenses was a fail so i dropped down. :/

Centralized air defenses wouldn't be a smart base to attack. They'll rip you apart fast, especially if they are level 6 like you say. Target bases where the air defenses are a bit farther out.

Lightning spell one of the Air Defenses until it is destroyed. They deploy them around the area where the air defense is destroyed. Sit back and enjoy the mayhem.

Use some archers to destroy outside buildings and bring some minions and maybe balloons to help your dragons.

You 'll want to get rid of the buffer with some ground troops, and replacing a drag with ten minions can save you ten seconds of heavy air defense fire. Rage is good, but takes practice.

It's a great combo for farming DE casually (look for at least 1k plus with one air defense covering it that'd be difficult to take out).

Ever since I got dragons I have cooked a max dragon army every night for a morning burn- sometimes that one raid is the best part of my CoC day. I know, I know- but raid after raid can get old.

Definitely look for spread out AD's- I try to send raged dragons towards those, but as you know- dragons have minds of their own. I do try (I'm very impatient) to not send all the dragons out at once, and keep a few to send out in the cleared path that their fallen dragon brothers created. But I admit it, some mornings I just ring the whole village with the dragons all at once and let them burn to their hearts content!

As for the farmers mentality, yeah- thats huge, I'm a farmer also. I'm sure I've wasted way more elixir then I've gained from my dragon burning, and I'd probably be further in the game if I hadn't done this - but meh. The times the dragons get it right and you 3 star a base by fire is just to cool to pass up.

Try it- it may not be for you- but as Supergoji said, sit back and enjoy the mayhem, it truly rocks.

All air armies are great fun - not very efficient but great for revenges and trophies up to around 2000. I find half drag, half balloon way more effective than full drag - the bloons specifically used to target ADs (with rage if the AD is deep and the cost is justifiable). I ignore bases with fully central ADs, upward xbows, infernos or all the loot in collectors (carry a few minions for that purpose). As a th8 at 1600 there are usually lots of bases with those criteria. I look for the fattest storages i can find to justify the cost and time. A minions sprinkle to reveal air bombs, a drag to tank for batches of 4 balloons pointed at ADs on two sides, then all remaining drags into the gap created, and maybe a few remaining minions to speed things up. I used to use lightning to clear an AD but i feel like raged balloons do the job better and often survive the AD hit too. More for fun than profit but 3starring is pretty easy.
