I had been fairly controlled with my response when this self proclaimed DE god made his first derogatory comment towards Greyjoy... Now i have counted 3 statements in this thread...

So i feel i am well within my remit to state a few things...

1) We at Greyjoy never claim to be some kind of Sky like clan... No idea where that came from... We have never created a Mano a Mano...

2) Only a small percentage of Greyjoy frequent these forums... Hence there are only a small number who would have any idea ♥♥♥ this is all about.

3) I said i was surprised that Rich even bothered attacking you...

We care not for a well known clan all we want is to fill our clans with people whos egos are of equal proportion to their intelligence.

Please do not bring my clan into this discussion you started the Mano a Mano ... As well as 3/4 others what does this say about your ego your need to be in the spotlight...

And fowler was wrong i would not have revenged you... Cause i never revenge unless im trophy hunting for easy THs.

1. Did you mean I proclaimed to be a DE God? If so, when and where did I do that? I only wrote a DE farming guide.

2. Our clan is currently having fun with Mano A Mano mini events, yes it can be seen to be trying to be in the spot light, but hasn't Greyjoy created some events on the forum before? What we are doing is not about ego at all as some are losses and some are wins - we are just trying to have some fun besides endless farming. Forum is a place where players can converse and have fun outside of the game. And Mano A Mano is not something we started, we are just following a "tradition" that is already on the forum.

3. Apparently I was wrong to assume anything about Greyjoy, since 3 people from the same clan say different things and act with very different styles for the Mano A Mano scenario. So Mano A Mano is probably very new to the clan, in terms of the virtues, "rules", and values.

4. Yes, I understand Greyjoy is different from Sky clan. The consistent style from the Sky members toward Mano A Mano, and the inconsistent style from Greyjoy shows this difference, and I was simply stating that to Fowler.

Initially the intention to be a friendly thing among forum regulars who know each other, rather than any victory against someone else in a farming clan. Most, "mano a mano" threads back in the day involved both parties PMing each other and agreeing to do a thread before the thread was posted. At some point people stopped PMing each other like that which is (I suppose) fine, but we've gone to the other end of the extreme at this point posting threads about folks who don't come to the forums at all.

As I recall, there was another thread where random victories like these recent ones got posted, although it seems to have died at this point.

Yeah, the tradition certainly has evolved, and I think it is okay though, because it is more efficient since there are lots of Mano A Mano encounters these days it seems. The ones for folks who don't post on the forum will get buried quickly, like the "Abrennan321 from Unity Elite vs Rommel2992 from Violent Sky" I posted 3 days ago, it is already buried and I bet no one remembers it

Not going to answer them because it seems my point was lost on you..The point was it seems you can say whatever you like about my clan... So i thought i return the favour irrespective of if any truth was behind my comments or not just as your contained no substance (it aint nice is it)... As i said 3 digs towards Greyjoy in this thread you can go count them if you wish....but go back to my very first post and read it again... But thankfully Hannibal just picked up on it! Rich is a humble guy who, had you asked him would he like to feature in a Mano a Mano would no doubt have said NO Thanks...

I don't play CoC much these days, but imagine if someone attacked me with all hog riders. And sometime later today, I get a PM message telling me that on CoCAltForums I had been called out to a challenge. And that the rules of the challenge were that I had to attack him with all hog riders in return.

There's a pretty good chance I'd ignore the thing completely. And if the guy had irritated me enough to warrant a revenge, it's unlikely I'd attack with all hog riders in return. I'd attack with whatever the hell I felt like attacking with. And the reason I'd do that would be because CoCAltForums would mean nothing to me. Because I don't go to CoCAltForums. And because I don't know the attacker either, I wouldn't feel like there was any kind of social contract between us dictating what I had to do.

Obviously, do whatever you like. You will anyway. But calling out folks by name who don't come to the forums at all, and then acting unhappy that they won't play according to the rules you suggest is a bit disingenuous.

Mind if I post the PM's between us for an example? Yes I still have them saved :P

Btw, that wasnt heavy handed... That was actually still quite amicable...

And just one more comment.... Point three here sums up Greyjoy perfectly.... Every single player is an individual thats what being in our clan is all about.... Its a diverse environment and its why its a fantastic clan... And although im no longer even there with them its still MY clan and always will be...

I understand where you are coming from, Hannibal. I honestly expected to be revenged by a farming army, because he was from a farming clan. That is all. I wasn't unhappy, until people from Greyjoy started saying how great a revenge it was, because from farmers' perspective it was actually a huge loss on Rich's part.

I'll post my points of views from a discussion that some clanmates and I were having last night. The mano a mano craze seems to be getting a bit out of hand, they used to be fairly rare because people would only post one if it was a frequent forum user against another frequent forum member. Nowadays it seems like everyone is so focused on trying to be a part of a mano a mano that they will do whatever it takes to make one. If someone attacks someone from an even slightly known clan they will post a thread about it. From my point of view, if you attack a person from a fairly well known clan, go ahead post about it, but dig up that old bragging thread or whatever, no need to make a thread about your attack on someone who doesn't even use the forums.

Some recent examples:

Good--- Daddy vs. Regalia, awesome, both people who frequent the forums

Bad--- Unity Sharp vs. Richin, Richin doesnt frequent the forums, before this thread I bet no one except perhaps greyjoy knew if he had an account

Bad--- Unity Sharp vs. Squareb3ar, sure ITD is well known on the forums, but does squareb3ar use them? (Not much)

Bad--- Flip (Crimson Sky) vs Pro£ky (Arkham Beach) , about 2 people that I am aware of from arkham beach use the forums and post here, Pro£ky does not have an account (that is known of, sure they could be a lurker)

I feel like people are so desperate to have their own mano a mano that they are making thread like the "Bad" examples posted above. Some of us thought it odd that these threads are being made about attacks that were from several days or a week or so ago. Seemed a bit odd that an attack on a certain player who actually does use the forums wasnt posted, that attack was a failure. Yet major success attacks on players from somewhat well known clans are posted in a hurry. So basically it could also be seen as people are now making mano a mano's as a way to say, hey look at my awesome attacking skills as i steamroll this random guy.

But hey, that's just my point of view. It's an opinion, dont get mad at me for saying it, just speaking my mind here.
