I see a few are quite annoyed by this, but SuperCell are a business. If anyone was thinking of buying Diamonds in the near future; their decision just got easier to buy them now for the deco.
If you are one that never buys Diamonds; or have no immediate plans to do so, just ignore it and keep on farming.
Well considering they still have to make money and the fact that Greg's farm showed us the decos before it was informally announced that we would have to get them through an unconventional way (wasn't popular in how it was introduced I'll admit... and I think SC gets that now), I believe this way at least they can still make money, but also reward the players more if choosing the higher option.... then maybe the feeling of getting ripped off won't be as bad.

What a heated thread! *cranks up the a/c to cool it off*
Anyway, my main disappointment stems from the fact that although no one at Supercell officially told us how the decorations would be made available, it was a little misleading putting the bouncy castle, piņata, and balloons *with* the chocolate fountain on Greg's farm. Since they were clumped together, I just assumed then that all four decorations would be available to be won via the Birthday Event (or be available for purchase with coins/diamonds afterwards in the store, like what usually happens!). It would have been better if the other 3 decorations were on a separate area of Greg's farm...somewhere away from the chocolate fountain.
(I guess this is where people might say, "You know what happens when you assume!")

Supercell CEO posted on the Supercell website that the new owner Tencent and Supercell agreed it will "continue to be operationally independent". I think we may assume the terms of the agreement will not allow Tencent to interfere with the creative road maps as envisioned by the current game teams.
In other words, the premium decos and special diamond package was dreamt up by Team Hay Day and not under pressure by Tencent. Fortunately for us, THD is still in charge of its destiny without outside interference.
I like the new premium decos but won't buy them because they're too pricey ($54.97 USD).
To the farmers who have bought them, I would like to thank you for supporting and sustaining the game in ways I cannot.![]()

Anyway, I read this whole thread, and it was awesome.
Tell me if I'm wrong. Are some of you repeat-posting in this thread, because you enjoy interacting with the forum's community manager, and it's a way to keep the conversation going?
It's why I'm posting. It's like a treat when Nick jumps into the deep end of the fandom pool with the rest of us.

My suggestion is not to assume.I have said it before. Things change, and I know, people are afraid of change. That is a fact also in real life. But we have gone through this topic 100 times now, so let's drop it.
The event is the trucking, or fishing or boat etc. The ghost on the lake etc. are a part of the theme, NOT the event.
We will look into event-types at some point, but we never promised new ones for this update. I don't see the relevance here. If you wanna talk about new events, suggest some in the ideas forum.
Assuming it would be a part of the event was the problem. We make a lot of changes in the game. Balance changes, color changes, art changes, chat changes etc. That's normal for any given game. I know changes are scary, and may come as a surprise but that's how it goes.
Yes, this was one of the most complex post to reply to in terms of messed up BB code.No idea why there's BB code for font changes, quote images etc. which messes up the post, when you can use the quote BB code which does it all for you. I hope I didn't miss out on anything.
I have (or had) read the threads, but we don't usually comment on speculation. Bumping threads just because of bumping them is a bit against the rules, and you should know it. If you want my attention to a thread, PM me and I'll look into it.
If anyone has any new questions which haven't been covered already, please go ahead and ask. Oh, and if you are new in this thread pls read all my replies so we avoid repeating ourselves, mkay!
Cheers,
Nick

Talking a bit more about the dropped drag n drop event. I understand the drag and drop event has been removed because it was too difficult to predict. (However everyone could predict the goals were set too high by the first hour, not sure why SC couldnt see that coming, i mean asking more products then you could ever produce in that time is just common sense the global goal couldn't be met, only using Tom could help you to meet all the goals which for some is understandable impossible to do that) .
But in stead of using this event for special events, can't it at least be used for the normal events with a 5 diamonds as final prize once in a while so supercell can learn from it what are good amounts to ask and people wont get mad if the global goal didn't meet?
I think more people will be happy having this event back then people getting angry they didn't win 5 diamonds once in a while. Now we don't win the 5 diamonds either each week, so it won't make difference for us as players.
The last time you used this event was for special prizes which you couldn't get in any other way, you put unrealistic goals which only could be met with the help of Tom and on top of that you put that event way too late. In any case we would win the special decoration it was anyway already time to remove those related decorations from the farm because Christmas was already over by then. So it was a combination of problems with that event people got mad about.
I think using this drag n drop event once in a while with the standard 5 diamonds prize would be a nice compromise for all of us.
