We guessed about the other items based on past experience, and we guessed wrong. In my opinion, it would have been better to leave the extra party decor out of the display until the unveiling of the unconventional news release.

Greg's farm was updated when we went live, to my recollection. Assuming something can be a bit dangerous, at least of a emotional level. I am sorry if you or anyone else assumed that the decorations on Greg's farm would be tied to the Birthday event. That being said, we never commented on them, thus never made any promises either.

Bill Clinton would be proud of you, a politicians answer if there ever was one. Never EVER before has deco on Greg's Farm not been available 'in game'. You saw it being discussed and you didn't say we had misunderstood. You NEVER make promises, it's not really how it works. You sneak things onto Greg's farm & then release them IN GAME, or have done until now, so we assume things aren't suddenly going to change. Just look at the photo, how can you say we should not have assumed it was part of the summer update or birthday celebrations? Oh no, much more reasonable to assume that birthday party decorations were just going to be some random items offered as an incentive to buy diamonds.

The event was the same - global event with a special prize if the global goal is met. That was the one I was referring to.
You asked how Halloween was different, I told you. We are talking about the whole event, not just the 'trucking event' bit

We dropped one specific event a long time ago as it was impossible to predict. Players were left without the global goal prize. We thought it was best to drop the event-type. This has been discussed in many threads a long time ago.It doesn't matter if you dropped 1 or 10, the fact is it/they were, as you said, dropped a long time ago & nothing new has been added. People are bored of them. Why are you ignoring the fact that people are bored with the current events?

Sneak peeks don't 'promise' anything, this was no different.

We never promised that the decorations will be as a part of the event. The decorations were there from the moment we updated the game. That's how it works, and has always worked. As I pointed out in a reply above, "assuming something can be a bit dangerous, at least of a emotional level". Obviously it's not our intention to disappoint players, but assuming something without an official confirmation can result in disappointment.
Changing something fundamental results in disappointment. We were NOT wrong to assume the deco would be available IN GAME. You have significantly changed the playing field & wont even admit it.

Then on top of that having to trash loads of orders because the machines weren't unwrapped for half of the event, let alone putting out anywhere near enough produce to fill the continual orders for new products - so it was either another Trash fest or soend diamonds.

The fact that we weren't able to react quicker, we take the blame. That was our bad.

Going around in circles... As I pointed out earlier in this thread - boat orders get filtered so that they do not request for new products from new machines. Truck and visitor orders do not. Something we will look into in future updates. And this is how it has been since we introduced the filters years ago.

    Cheers,

    Nick

    EDIT:
it has dropped all of the quotes, but I sure you know what they're referring to from your own post.

Exactly, expertations were raised and not met. That can only end in tears. I, for one, am disappointed that I will miss out on the fun of having these deco on my farm. Not angry, just disappointed.

    Flabbergasted here....

    Acceptable Use
Using the search function, you find a post that may be a few months old but is relevant to a question or concern you have. You reply to said thread adding relevant discussion that would continue the conversation and get new perspective from newer users. How old is too old? That's like asking how hot is too hot for bath water. Each person would have their own tolerance level. It depends on the topic and how relevant the new information is being posted.
I upped 3 threads from only 2 days ago last post, to prove we really have talked about Gregs deco's and no-one from SC has reacted in any way to put our high expectations on hold. I was told it was against forum rules. In my opinion the three threads were surely relevant to prove we talked about it and even long before starting event and SC still at HQ. Maybe it had been better to make links to the 3 threads. But it proves that expectations were there.

Maybe you should read them tomorrow I'm going to sleep too

I too am disappointed that the only way to obtain the decor is to purchase the diamond packages. Seems to put it out of reach of many players.

Definitely disappointed but Nick did say in an earlier post that we shouldn't be surprised...especially the long-time players. I have played since the very beginning and, until now, it seems that everything has been obtainable through basic gameplay. This really changes things. I don't buy diamonds. Ever. I'm a little jealous of those who do but not purchasing diamonds is my choice and I'll have to deal with it. So now, it's free-to-play-but-you-don't-get-the-cool-stuff. I do love my decorations but I find myself playing more for the social aspect of the game. I think lots of us play because we've met some wonderful people and we value those relationships.

So yes, a bit shady to get us excited by putting the decos on Greg's farm but not terribly surprising that they're only available with a purchase. Yay for y'all who get them! I will be balloon-less, piñata-less and bounce house-less but I will have more plants in my real garden, more fabric in my stash and I might just get a piñata and beat it with a stick in my back yard. Y'all are welcomed to come over. I'll provide the prizes...my parties do not require you to purchase anything.

I feel it would/should have also been an option to buy the deco in the store. For example I have 13,812 vouchers just gathering dust. I could have bought deco with them. There are a few things available to buy with vouchers, but been there, done that. That's just a suggestion on my part. Kind of like support suggesting I use Tom to fill boat crates with products from machines that still had over a day before completion. We all have suggestions on what someone else should do.
I could have written this post about me. I also buy diamonds on a semi-regular basis, and I have been waiting for a discount offer for 2 days, so this morning when I opened the game and saw the packages, I just got those instead... Then i came here after a hoodie mentioned that people were unhappy. I was looking at it as a bonus for something I was going to do anyway, but it makes me sad that so many feel excluded. Perhaps in future offerings, it might be less of a surprise as to how it will be offered? In theory, I dont't think anything was wrong with this type of offer, just maybe the way it was hyped?
