I am the newly promoted leader of a level 9 clan where war is optional.
Our previous leader has done an incredible job building the clan from scratch, the atmosphere was always friendly and fun. Everyone was always generous with time, assistance, suggestions, game guidance and troop donations. Then around 4 months ago activity started to decline. A lot of the long term players were coming up for exams and studying hard, our leader being one of them. The place got quieter naturally. Quite a few of us carried on fighting the fights and enjoying the game though.
Last week our leader announced his exams are over but he would like to enjoy life after studying so hard and his priorities lie elsewhere now. He passed the baton onto me.
My challenge – get the clan as active as it had always been.
Today – a lot of inactive elders and cos. Still studying? Perhaps, Will they come back? Perhaps or not. A change is coming.
Our donations from existing players are still healthy but with a clan of around 40 we have about 20+ active daily and actually struggle to do 15 – 15 wars with opt outs due to hero upgrades, people only farmers, etc.
The clan is first class, some of these guys are not just good clashers but great people too. The age range is quite variable from low teens to fifties but mostly adults, probably mostly high teens and low twenties. Some adults have their children in too, so chat is always family friendly.
The clan chat is in English only although we have members from all over the globe and for some clan members English is not their first language. Around half of the clan are from the UK and wars are ran from late evening UK time.
Ideally what I want is to bring in 8-10 new members which would invigorate the place. Is there a clan dying and existing good members need a new home? I am not going to promise promotions to engage people. Elder and co are earned and it would be disrespectful to existing members to hand them out free. If you need the badge, you are not the type of clasher we are looking for anyway.

The clan is not dying, don’t get that impression from my post but I think the time to act is now before inactivity spreads.
