Always wondered if SC could make distinct incentives for being up in legends...
Something drastic.., like, legends get to play with upcoming troop levels, or even upcoming troops, or just "work in progress" stuff SC is close to releasing but not yet ready. To balance the added offense, the defenses get auto-upgraded to level max+1 (also acts as a preview of future defense levels?). Overall, have defenses dialed up more than offense to make legend league become a game on "Hard mode".
-Players up top duke it out in hard mode, gives trophies meaning?
-successful defenses would be much more likely (if defense stats dialed up enough).
-due to second point, attackers wouldn't gain loot, possibly even losing loot from not winning... but then its not an arena for farming.
-hopefully the hard mode entices the hardcore players to try compete there
-hopefully playing with one or two upcoming offense side toys (Level+ or troops) entices people to go there.
-SC can check out their ideas with top players trialing it out
Was thinking if this existed before the Witch lvl3 was released, SC could have quickly seen how it'd perform by legend players
SC wouldn't be obliged to release the beta versions of troops or troop level+ to the game anytime... just a sandbox for them to try things and have skilled players pushing up to go play with it.
I think as it stands now, there are no successful defenses up here, not by the traditional definition anyway. I consider it successful if they only 1 star me, and I am quite confident that many others feel the same.
The only truly successful defenses I have seen over the last month, are ones where the attacker made major mistakes, and that was only once, about 3 weeks ago.
At this point, offense far outweighs defense.

This is an excellent idea!
But maybe make the PvP starts from Titan and up, so more players can experience this PvP battle.
Can we get a mod to sticky this thread? Almost every idea thread on these forums turns into a flame war, but strangely, this one has not.

Errrr....not for me. I think putting it way up there at 5k is fairly necessary, being as it requires a completely different shield system.
There's quite a few players that like lazy farming Titans now, and all the lower TH pushers that enjoy being able to grind it out to T3+.
It does make a 5k start line a very conscious and solid decision to go and compete, as you'd have had to do a bit of a slog through T2 and 1 to get there.
I actually never thought about this but what if it makes T1 and T2 worse since you won't be able to find legends? Or maybe better because the Legends aren't gobbling up all the bases? Its really hard to know without knowing all the facts and statistics that Supercell knows. But I agree that putting it in Titans might annoy some people who are just there to farm.
Actually.. compared to sticky, it will be better if a staff post anything in this thread, thus it will have "SC marks" (or whatever it is called) and it will be more noticable for other forumers
but both will be nice :V
