Since the Clash gods are going to introduce the friendly challenge, why not start thinking about friendly clan wars. This way, for example, my clan will be able to challenge my buddy's clan to see whose clan is stronger. No free loot, just pride and banter. Matching could be an issue to make sure both clans are of reasonably equal strength, but I am sure that could be worked around. This could make the game even more interesting!
