Those that have more time to watch youtube videos get more 3 star attacks too. Should we ban youtube videos to make it "fair." Why not go ahead and ban clan chat so clanmates can't coach people through their attacks.

How can it get abused? Can attack clanmates only sooo
You can't be serious? You really don't understand what this does to war?

Personally I'm a fan of this addition. Yes, it may open up the possibility of some sandboxing for war attacks, but it doesn't show trap locations or CC troops, so it can only be used for pathing prediction (which if you read ANY wb thread or queen thread, you'll know that even pathing isn't entirely predictable). There is also a random element to target selection when choosing between equidistant targets, so what works in the sandbox may not work on the real base.

In any event, I can finally try some Lavaloon practice WITHOUT blowing through 1000s of DE and tons of time to work on it. I can try some really fun things, and bowler walks, and crazy army comps, without having to 'next' my life away trying to find a suitable base to drop my practice army on.

Overall, I think the pros outweight the cons here.

My clan has 6 fully max TH11s, another 8 that are very close. So, under the plan below, that's 14 attacks every war, practiced to death, with near or max warden and troops.

Until we get more details of loophole fixing measures, let's make a hypothetical.
I would never do this, but the fact that is technically possible and would provide an advantage....some would.

Create 2 alternating war teams, of incredibly similar makeup. Ideally, half th9, half th11 (splitting the max and just off-max bases between the teams)

One team in the feeder, are the base builders.
The TH9s in the war team hit every base. While they may not be able to expose every trap, they could get enough to plan the attack, or that the rest would be obvious.
This info is relayed to the feeder base building team.

TH11s from the war team hop over to the feeder for some heavy sandboxing.

After a resounding stomping win, the team's either switch clans, or just war on the opposite one.

Sounds a ludicrous amount of work does it not? How much would you like to bet that plenty would be willing though....and thus killing the war experience for those that didn't want to go to such lengths.

And so, as has been said a few times already: the ONLY way around it I see is that friendly battle bases have a 47 hour cool-down to any changes.
No idea how one would implement this, but does rather sidestep any abuse.
Can't even make it so that changes are fair game at war end....as different wars in different places finish at different times.
Ill re-post, since people only seem to want to reply to the naive or Armageddon posts.

No one wants to wait to see how it will actually works before they decide if they like it or not but that really is the best idea...
It doesn't take long to build a base. If it's like royale than it will cap defence lvls so u aren't limited to attacking your same lvl defence wise. We r so lacking in info, I'd wait until we get full details until we wig out. If it runs like royale and u can't exploit it in war it will b awesome

Oh my god SC! You truly cannot make a good thing without ruining it! This is complete and total garbage. You ban the fluffy bunnies which is the best thing you have ever done, hands down. But now, you basically give everyone fluffy bunny access. This is just plain dumb and poorly thought out, and quite frankly I expected more of you, although at this point I'm wondering why I did. If you implement this there won't be any "adapt" nonsense...you will simply lose the following of the war community, me included and I am 8000% sure I am not alone. Please for the love of god don't implement this ridiculous feature!

    ...you must be joking, right

It means CW will only be fun for those who can spend hours on the game, not any more for those who can't, they will get frustrated, very soon.

Hahah!! True, waiting 48 hrs before a newly designed base is available would make WAY too much sense
