And modified versions, based on the base I'm hitting. Sometimes hog heavy...sometimes valk heavy. So, question stands.

Well, if you state it that way there is not realy a good answer I guess It depends on how many valks/hogs you use then I guess. If you use about the same amount you can put in your cc, dont up that troop yet, because you can easily ask for it in castle.

As much as I love hogs they pale in comparison to valks for usefulness at 10 right now.

That the thing, hogs have been so good for me on surgical deploys, when you have to take out a defense here or there. So I have this soft spot for them that's hard to shake. That, and the undeniable fear that the moment I max my valks...they get nerfed.

Curious what the forum take is on these two troops. Valks seem to be the it troop at the moment, thus on the radar for a possible future nerf. Meanwhile, hogs just keep plugging along as old reliable.

I'm almost at the point of trying some hog based stuff at my 11 which I'm theorizing with the warden may actually be more useful than they were at 10, provided he can keep up. Problem with hogs at ten is they definitely take on a support role while currently valks are a front line troop.

I've been meaning to get to trying some things, was waiting until my warden was maxed now that he's done and my dark storage is always full I'm going to start playing around a little. So hard to give up the barching though....withdrawals and all.

I don't get these kind of questions. Just upgrade (first) what you actually use the most. Ofc people who use hogs more, will say hogs and the same applies to valks (till the next update )

I don't get these kind of responses. In general, hogs and valks are both war troops so they would both be used equally. So the answer doesn't lie in what troop they use more but in the stat bumps each troop gets. That said, both upgrades are a decent stat bump and I would recommend valks.
