This subject has probably been treated already, and apologies as I couldn't find the thread.
Searching for a clan with the search function is quite frustrating. Many clans appear in your results which you just don't want to see.
I think it should be refined a bit more and we should be given the possibility to search on these criteria:
- Open/Invite/Closed clan
- Language of the clan (this would imply adding an extra feature in the clan description)
- There should be additional 'regions'. Instead of just 'International' and a list of countries, having time zones could prove useful, or at least subdivisions such as Europe, Asia, Africa etc;
-Having dead clans removed from the search would also make everyone's search easier. Either as an additional search functionality, or as an automatic way, just like it happens with the removal of dead bases on your raiding parties.
I'd be ok with adding more search criteria as well as expanding the selections clan leaders put in their descriptions. Our clan is multi-national, but we're primarily North American. International doesn't really fit the bill. A clan language would be nice, too.
As for dead clans, though, any clan that appears isn't technically dead. There may only be one member and that member may be inactive, but he is still part of the game and so is his clan. I think if you use the minimum number of members option, you'll be able to find what you're looking for.
I hear what you say. However, you would be surprised at the number of inactive clans that come up, even with a high number of people. I just did a search with minimum 45 people in the clan. Result: all clans on that page had ZERO activity. All of them!
I find that those clans seriously lower visibility and considerably reduce the chances of an active clan to come through.
I know we shouldn't rely on getting people or finding a good clan from the search function too much, with but what is the point of having it then? It is there, so it might as well become a useful and reliable tool.
Only my humble opinion, of course
