Mostly Americans from 20's to 40's in age. Nobody is unemployed and most of us have kids. Winning is the objective and coc wars are a team sport. We hate to lose. Teamwork is critical and if you're not a team player, this is not the clan for you. We expect TH8's to hit in the first 5 hours, and every raid is a 3-star, no matter how far you need to drop to do it. If you need to do your raids early, we expect you to be a TH8 or a TH9 that is getting 3 stars, no matter how far you have to drop to do that. Every clan has a specific strategy. Some hit mirrors, some hit -1 or -2, we hit for 3 stars, even if it turns out to be overkill. We want a lot of looks at all of the bases and the best way for that to happen is to 3-star from the bottom up. If that game plan is something you agree is the best way to win, then read on.
Finding the right clan is almost as difficult as building the right clan. I've been playing this game for 3 years and have been in the clans where 2 stars are congratulated, farming skills are marveled and war wins are spotty. I've been in the highly structured clans with web pages, Facebook pages, all of it. Well run operations. But I always found things I didn't like about the way a clan was run, people I just didn't like, or worst of all, a bad war clan.
I joined the Pirates about 9 months ago after growing tired of being in my 3 kids clan. I was needing some real competition and I wanted to win. The parents sucked at raiding more than the kids. It was time to war and win. Luck drew me to this clan at the recommendation of a friend. 6 guys from Tennessee, who grew up together, had started this clan but they were looking to add more leaders they could count on to follow the game plan, be reliable, and play a team war. After 5 months I was promoted to leader, as has another non Tennessee original named DangerousDan. All 8 of us make decisions together, but most importantly, we all share a like mind when it comes to the war strategy.
Personality is important too. The 8 leaders are in their 30's and 40's and all have careers and most have families. We have people as young as 20 and have about 40 total people in the clan. Recruiting is tough and we get a lot of requests from foreigners and rushed bases, but haven't recruited much. If you have a sense of humor that is rated Aaaargh! and you believe in the power of 3-star raids and are willing to play your role in the team game plan, come give us a try.
Since this is our first real attempt at recruiting, I'm going to ask the other 7 leaders to check in here from time to time to add to this.
So what do you need to know?
First off, when you request, mention this thread, tell a knock knock joke, insult us, but don't put up the "may I join your clan" message. We always war and are suspicious of potential spies.
We expect you to attack with smart 3-star strategies such as GoHo, GoLavaLoon, GoVaHo, PentaLavaLoon, GiHeHo, GoWiPe, GoWiWi, Drag Zap Quake, etc... Tactical war raids are how you 3-Star and the more tries we get at it, the more chance we get at 3 starring it. We like to talk strategy and how to best hit certain bases so all you have to do is ask. We all have an opinion. If you need to drop down to 3-star, it's OK, as long as you 3-star. We have plenty of strong people at the top of the clan.
We require everyone to attack twice in every single war they are in. Reliable people is critical to winning clan wars. You can opt out of wars for short periods, but if you are green for war you MUST attack twice.
We are a soon to be LVL10 clan, which means we have some very good clan perks that make us stronger.
