The new war weight system based more on defense than offense would work well, except for these defenseless accounts.
My proposed fix is to put all TH lvls together on war map, and sub rank them based on base strength. Instead of base strength being the sole criteria for location on war map.
Im sure this isn't an overly large problem on SC fix list seeing as how they are basically gemmed bases, can't save loot for upgrades without defenses. But it's really a crappy war to see the top even and the bottom having 3+ defenseless accounts. You know their attack strength is exponentially higher so skill is less a factor, and skill should be what wins wars.
Starting with the assumption that clan wars is ultimately about the skill of the players. That an ideal war would be an entire map with exact clones attack and defense strength across from each other on the map and it's a battle of skill: first defensively with base setup and second offensively with destroying your opponent.
You could structure wars which each TH having a particular set of pre-determined defense levels and offensive troop levels. Each TH could have different difficult/strength tiers and which tier your base falls into is based on your home bases overall strength/defense. In the very least you would need 3 tiers a "new/middle/max".
its a lot of coding but I imagine most of it would make logical sense once it was being coded in. "New" tiers would be similar to "max" tiers of previous TH lvl.
There would be some unintended consequences. Like people not working dragons on main base for raids to keep weight down but able to use atleast a somewhat leveled dragon for war attacks. Rushed bases would never make it to the "max" tier and only able to use the TH lower level troops encouraging players to evenly upgrade your TH through the game. Though in the extreme cases it would let a very bad TH have atleast basic troops to do real war attacks. Helping some people enjoy the game again.
You almost have to take it further and make seperate war camps for troops and might as well give the players what they want and let seperate Heros do war attacks. Always awake and the function at the current level.
this also could eliminate war troop building time allowing players to maintain raiding while doing war attacks. Encouraging both forms of play.
if they wanted to be really nice SC could eliminate troop costs on war map camps. Players could change troops out instantly.
Most people will probably say no way they make too much on gem spending on the hero topic and probably the switching gemming troops done. I think happy players spend money if they have it. Personally I still see a lot of angry people and even factoring in the loot cart and star daily rewards....most players still feel like SC has just taken, and not given anything back.
I'm personally warming up to playing again and am trying to work up to 8 million elixir for max drags at TH 10. I'm still seeing if it's possible with my play time, build time, war time, new kid time...Yada Yada. Still making progress at 5 million and started getting attacked after 4 million. Heavy DE troops to keep levels down and save elixir. Gold dumped into walls at 3 million a pop.
