Someone requests a certain troop. You want to give that troop but haven't trained it yet. As you are training said troop or troops, you can select donate and once they are finished training they are automatically donated. Make sense? Good. And the person receiving the troops can see in the donation bar which troops you have training for them. Everyone is happy.
