    SC...we need something more....

I'm not one of those "game is dying", "I'm quitting" types. In fact, I don't think the game is dying and I have absolutely no intention of quitting for a long, long time.

I am, however, starting to get a bit bored with the game. And that's why I wanted to offer up this note.

SC - we need something more to liven the game up, make it more interesting, and give us something else to do.

The December update completely blew clan wars for our clan because the matchmaking system put us up against ridiculously overpowered opponents every single time. So...we turned our focus to our villages. I raided a gazillion gold/elixir/dark-elixir and spent entirely too much money buying gems to boot. (Why my wife is still with me is anyone's guess.) That was fun for a while, but it's gotten kinda old and now I'm on the hero and wall grind which is more work than fun. (Really...the cost of things at TH9 and above, especially TH10 and TH11, is just insane for the amount of time required to gather resources.)

I tried wars when the March update hit and sure enough, the matchmaking was good again; we won a couple of wars and it was fun...but still not enough. Something was missing.

Right now I'm just upgrading my games again; either from the collectors or occasionally tossing up shields and boosting collectors. I run a few raids here and there to top things off, but that's about it.

I want to see something new added to this game; something that allows me to have fun, generate loot, and keeps coming back. I like what you guys did with Boom Beach where there's the whole MegaCrab, Dr. T's regular appearances with multi-level island fortresses, the submarine, daily OP awards and campaign chests.... The same has been done in Clash Royale with the various chests you get after winning a battle, or the cumulative crown chest. All of these things make the games interesting and give me something to do, single player, without making it too onerous a task to build up resources for upgrades. I point these out as examples of the kinds of things I'd like to see in CoC.

The goblin map on CoC was great fun - I enjoyed it my first couple of times through, and even more so when I waited until I was TH11 to run through it. That's the only single player action in the game though; and that's kind of a bummer. I'd like more maps to go through, as well as periodic events and challenges where I can gain a substantial amount of loot,. Again - we're talking single player things here that I can do without spending all the time hitting next, or wasting tons of elixir on clan wars that don't even provide an even return for resources used.

I don't really have a lot of ideas as to what these things should be; I'm sure you guys do. We've seen you get pretty creative in the past. And like I said - none of the "I'm gonna quit" garbage here, because I'm not; I just want something more from this game than what I'm getting today and providing that feedback.

    FWIW...my .02.

I'm not sure that you understand the business strategy behind these games

It doesn't benefit them to give you free loot in events to established players. Boom Beach is entirely different in terms of user numbers and Royale is going giving you incentives as a new player to keep you hooked (can you not recall all the new achievements, free gems and troop unlocks early on CoC?).

I understand the freemium model very well; it also needs ways to keep players interested and spending money. This isn't about free loot and I guarantee I've spent more than the average player on this game.

CoC has become single threaded; it has essentially no single player game and the only way to get resources for building/upgrading is to either spend countless hours raiding or hundreds to thousands of dollars buying the resources. There needs to be something else both to keep interest and to generate resources. There can be a gem tie-in, but the game needs more depth than just raiding for hours upon hours upon hours.

Keep in mind - as I said, I draw comparisons to the features in BB and CR not to say let's do that here, but to describe the concept. On BB, I still gem army regen time to attack more often; same as on CoC where I boost my barracks or gem the army straight to completion. I gem timers on upgrades or cards/chests on all three games. I buy resources on both BB and CoC, and increase troop protections/strengths. All based around the same, freemium gameplay.

Events/challenges provide another vector of game play; something else to do in the game. It doesn't really cost SC anything to give their paying player base other things to do; in fact, it increases playing time for these players by keeping them tied to more and more activities. For the non-payers...well, I hate to say it but they don't really factor into the financial accounting here (although they do benefit as well).

The alternative is that paying players lose interest and leave or at the least reduce their investment. This is where I am at right now; the game has gotten boring for me and although I am not quitting, my $150+/month spending habit is being applied elsewhere. More, interesting things to do increases retention and immersion for this player class as well as others.
