Latest Update - Happy?

"Oh.... look. Someone attacked me. Good now I have 12 hours to protect me briefly while I upgrade my TH to 142 for the next month. Yay. Attack, attack here to add 500 to my 143 Trillion storage Elixir/Coin Pots. *yawn, stretch* Hmmm... oh look, there is another game with more strategy options. I might go check that out..."

This is exactly how I feel now! After spending over $400 in real money (in less than 3 weeks when I started), I dropped my trophies to level up. I still bought gems and used them, but at the lower trophy level, the need for real money and gems is not as RIDICULOUS if you wanna level up fast.

With this update, I feel like all the time and money I've spent on this game is wasted and now, playing is boring. If I knew that resources would be available based on town hall level, I would've used a different strategy like fully upgrading everything I have BEFORE upgrading town hall to the next level. As this was not what I did, I feel totally screwed with this new update and a level 8 town hall.

The only way before the update to upgrade stuff within a reasonable amount of time, was to either steal the gold, or buy gems to fill storages. After the update, it seems the only way left is to buy gems. I'm not willing to buy gems to speed up troops to play, speed up upgrades, AND NOW fill elixir and gold storages to upgrade in the first place! raiding for resources doesn't make sense anymore if you have a level 8 town hall because the payout isn't worth the reward. The game is boring when it takes months to save up to upgrade one wizard tower at a time and people like me will quickly lose interest in playing. Thats what was happening to me before I dropped my trophies. I was bored and stuck because everything was so expensive.

I was having way more fun raiding at the lower trophy level. Had I known supercell was going to create such a ♥♥ update, I would've quit when I got bored the first time, instead of wasting my time raiding to upgrade stuff and now be screwed when I woke up one morning (that would be today).

I would honestly email Apple support and tell them your situation, you might be able to get a refund if you can convince them that your money was wasted as a result of the update.

Why I voted what I voted....

My situation right now. Lvl 44, a few weeks ago bought a few building huts and gems to SPEED UP the long waiting times. Primarily the cityhall. When having the gold to build a big upgrade I don't want to wait days to use it.

Until today I had a great time playing the game. Skip a few matches to find a reasonable one with either a challenge or enough money to equal the building costs. Now since the update I can't even find a game to equal the costs (around 45000), most of the games I find have 0-2500 of each.

In general: because I 'quick' upgraded to / payed for the max cityhall, I get punished by not finding any reasonable match.

WHY PLAY THE GAME WHEN THERE'S NO CHALLENGE OR OTHER REASON TO FIGHT?

I think the matching system is completely wrong. Maybe they should use something more intelligent formula counting the cups and the combined upgrades (buildings + army levels) with some random factor.

Right now I'm hoping for a quick update/fix otherwise I'll quit the game leaving 6000+ gems unspent.

What can i say... Balance?

Firstly all high level players got where they are before these changes. Now mid lvl players just get squeezed from all sides as they cant attack 2 lvl down, cant attack stronger players and on top see upgrade costs raise with about 40%. I am not even speaking about new players...

You don't have to follow an MBA to deduct the already unbalanced game mechanism is totally screwed up now...

For a company making millions... I wouldnt be happy as shareholder!

how do you manage to make from one of the best games on the market with one small update, an at best mediocre money raping game as your competitors.


always Same story with new games. They start promising and once the base and hype is there, the customer becomes the money cow.

Impossible to get gold on a narmal rate do upgrade stuff....

I am PedroLee level 45 and have spent so much money on Gems. Now the game is unplayable. I keep spending around 100k gold to search and most people I see only has less than 10k gold/elixir... What happened? Elixir cost in training troops takes more than this... It's like there is no reason to attack... Have they lowered the steal to 10%? How are we able to upgrade our towers, walls and troops now?

I'm still relatively new to CoC, TH5, level 26XP...
I was able to get up to this level in a little over a week. (Despite getting raided by higher ranked players)
I've spent a few $ for gems for the third builder, and was thinking about possibly getting more... but...

Since the upgrade:
I have not been attacked by anyone lower than me, though this used to happen before.
I have not been able to successfully defend any attack because now higher level players are attacking me more often...
I have been raided more than ever by opponents stronger than ever...
Only option is to play the game and raid opponents, or do nothing while waiting for the shield. (boring)

So now it seems that the game is almost becoming pointless...
Every time I attack, I score about 40,000 gold and lose my shield, when I get attacked, I lose, on avg 39.5K. Net gain:500. (And this is only gold...not even factoring in elixir)
With such a slow gain, it's becoming painful to save enough gold to upgrade my townhall...
The more gold I save, the bigger a target I become, the more I'm attacked by players stronger than me.

It used to seem like I was getting somewhere... but after having the game off and on all day (I do have a regular job...), I'm little better off than when I had woke up. I probably would have made more gold had I just stayed offline, gotten attacked then just collected through a 12 hour shield... but the point is not to stay offline, is it?

It's becoming nearly impossible to gain enough gold to upgrade my townhall unless I buy gems...

Like I said, pointless... No longer fun.
