Taking away that extra minute is killing everyone. It changes how the game works, we have to speed up war attacks, and that causes mistakes! please give us that time back!
The game worked well when the timer was 3:00. The TH11 update increased it to 3:30, but this change destroyed the competitiveness of wars up to TH9. For the small minority of players that had TH10-11 bases, it was necessary, but for everyone else, it destroyed the fragile balance.
Three star attacks should never be easy, but they should be possible. The problem is that the 3:30 timer made three star attacks easy for bases up to TH9. However, the 3:00 timer makes three stars at TH10-11 nearly impossible.
The solution that the war community proposed to SC was to allow 3:00 for attacks on bases up to TH9, but to allow an extra 30 seconds for attacks on bases that are TH10-11. SC chose to change the timer back to 3:00 for all attacks. Perhaps the split system is too difficult to implement. Perhaps it is not needed for all TH10+, as many are simply rushed and can be three starred without the extra time.
I see one other solution that has presented itself. I simply do not believe that it is intentional on the part of SC, but it is developing nonetheless due to SC's changes:
1. The new Valkyrie is capable of dismantling the core of a base in the blink of an eye; particularly under rage.
2. Hogs have always been capable of lightning fast three stars
3. LALOON attacks can crush a base in two minutes or less
4. Combinations/hybrids of the above are effective against well designed bases
I don't know what TH level the OP is, but for all that are reading this, if you are having trouble three starring within the three minute clock, the fault is not SC's. Retool your troop composition. Avoid slow moving troops. Players are three starring bases at every TH level (tougher at TH10-11 admittedly) within the 3:00 timer. If you are not, you need to change your attack strategy.
